I'm so happy whenever people finally give this franchise a chance! I adore it so much and its such a fun watch for the satire and comedy. It's one of the only satires that I enjoy and actually feels well done rather than being a big joke.
Matthew Lillard is awesome. Check him out in 2001's "13 Ghosts" (a scary movie), and the 1998 film about the Salt Lake City punk scene called "SLC Punk". Their my favorites of his works.
The great thing about Scream was it was so self aware, in that it even though it is a serious subject it constantly refers to old Horror films and makes reference to the plot of them etc. It also spawned superb sequels, each on of them is great too and well worth a watch. You gotta do the sequels, the writing is just so clever. Wes Craven killing off the most famous person in the film in the first few minutes. An incredible amount of such famous female actors in the Scream films just too many to mention.
@@handsome_head_injury6011 Predictably I've never seen any of those lol Yes, I haven't seen the OG and the trailer for the new one gave me the heebie jeebies

I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would, and am definitely interested in checking out the sequels!

I'll add those to the list! Thank you!

Definitely a franchise I’m interested in getting into
Are there any "scary" movies that are actually scary? I can only think of three.
Yeah I think for me the ones that have to do demons scare me, but the serial killer ones haven't really been. Which 3 do you view as scary?
@mrkamenwatch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), Martyrs (2008), and Hereditary (2018). Scary demons- like the Exorcist?
