Wow ausome fantastic tom you've just smashed it my friend before you crossed the road there's a lamplight turn left over a little bridge there's the guest house owned by the viabutts that's were I took my ladies home they worked there you want to try walking by moonlight lol 🙄 you and paddy have made my day thank you ❤ all the best until 2 mora carnt wait John 😊
Great start to this walk, it brings back many memories for me as a youngster. I was first dragged along by my parents in the late 40s. later on, in the 50s. I got to enjoy it more. Wow, how the plants and trees have grown.
Thanks for this walk Tom as it brings back many good memories. My wife and I used to walk along the railway walk from red houses to Corbiere and stop for a drink and walk back to red houses. I have to say its a good walk from St Aubin to Corbiere even for a young fit person good luck to you both. I always look to see how many more subscribers you have since I subscribed at 171. Look forward to more video's when you have them all the best to you and the lovely Paddy.
Hi Nic, thank you so much for your comment. I'm so glad the video brought back good memories - I have to say my enthusiasm was flagging a bit, but it is comments like yours that make me realise it is worth while to carry on! thank you so much! 👍
We did this walk from the opposite direction both ways and loved it. You're right Tom it's beautiful. I don't know why you're not getting more subscribers, people are missing some great walks around Jersey, my husband and I are loving them.
Hi Denzie. thanks for commenting. Yes, Paddy and I managed both ways as well - getting to Corbiere and then back to St. Aubin. I'll save the return journey for a few weeks! Oh, and thank you for your kind words! 👍
I’ve enjoyed all your videos. I lived there 25 years ago when my daughter was little. I told my daughter to let her gran know about your channel as she may enjoy seeing the sites while in her nursing home. I also thought you could market to the skilled nursing facilities as most residents have access to a computer. All the best, Michelle
Hi Michelle, thanks so much for your comments. Funnily enough I had the same thought about nursing homes a month or so ago, but didn't follow it up. I may well have another look at this possibility. Thanks again!
Good afternoon Tom , Thanks for sharing the videos of your walk , my wife and I were gonna do that walk in Jersey in October but easyJet disrupted our return flight so we had to cancel our holiday 😢😢😢 But I rebooked for April just after the school holidays 😅 so it will give us something to look forward to , what's the weather like in April ? We will continue to watch your wonderful videos Best wishes from Glasgow David and Julia 👋
Hi David and Julia. Thanks so much for watching and for commenting! Sorry to hear about your October trip but April will be here soon enough! As for the weather.........mmmh! I first started posting a lot of videos in February this year and the weather then was amazing! I think it is all down to luck. Hopefully, April 2024 will be fantastic for you! By the way, I'm a Muir and half my family came from Glasgow.......so welcome to my channel! 👍
@@thereluctantoutdoorsman Hi Tom , Nice to hear you have Scottish blood in you , have you ever seen the Muir tartan ? it's really nice especially the ancient Muir tartan , my tartan is MacKinnon from my mother's side , hope the weather is nice in April , looking forward to going to Jersey it's such a beautiful island to relax and unwind , did you do a video review of the Hotel Christina when you had a staycation? I hear that it's a steep climb to get to Hotel Christina , Tom what is your favorite beach , bay in Jersey? Thanks again David and Julia 👋
Hi David and Julia, I have to say I can't remember what the Muir Tartan looks like, only very distant memories of my Dad having a kilt and a set of bagpipes (which I don't think he could play). I'll look up the Muir and Mackinnon Tartans! I did indeed do a video where my wife and I had an overnight staycation at the Cristina but didn't film much around the hotel (which was probably a bit dumb of me, because I know people do like seeing hotels!). The hotel was nice though! There are many beautiful beaches on the island and if you have some nice weather in April you will have them to yourselves. Favourites include Beauport, St. Ouen's Bay, St. Brelade's Bay and Portelet to name just a few! If you get lucky with the weather it will be beautiful visiting the beaches in April. 🤞
