- This is the lyrics for No Shelter by Rage Against the Machine. Enjoy.
Lyrics:
The main attraction distraction
Got you number than number they numb
Empty your pockets, son, they got you thinking that
What you need is what they selling
Make you think that buying is rebelling
From the theatres to malls on every shore
the thin line between entertainment and war
The frontline is everywhere
There be no shelter here
Spielberg the nightmare works to push it far
Amistad was the whip, the truth feather to tar
Memories erased and burned to scar
Trade in your history for a VCR
Cinema, simulated life, ill drama
Fourth reich culture, Americana
Chained to the dream they got you searching for
The thin line between entertainment and war
There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere (x4)
There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere
There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere
There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere
Hospitals, not profit full
The market bull’s got pockets full
To advertise, some hip disguise
View the world from American eyes
The poor adore keep feeding for more
The thin line between entertainment and war
Fix the need, develop the taste
Buy the products or get laid to waste
Coca-Cola was back in the veins in Saigon
And Rambo too, we got a dope pair of Nikes
ugh
Godzilla, pure motherfucking filler
Get your eyes on the real killer
Cinema, simulated life, ill drama
Fourth reich culture, Americana
Chained to the dream they got you searching for
The thin line between entertainment and war
There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere (x4)
There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere
There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere
There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere
American eyes, American eyes
View the world from American eyes (x2)
Bury the past, rob us blind
And leave nothing behind
American eyes, American eyes
View the world from American eyes
Bury the past, rob us blind
And leave nothing behind
(Solo)
Just stare! (x4)
Just stare!
Just stare!
Just stare!
And live the nightmare - Видеоклипы
Funniest part about this song: it was on the Godzilla soundtrack and they dissed the movie in the fucking song lol.... gotta love it
Yeah, but everyone knows it's not a real Godzilla movie. Although I will give it credit for having a pretty kickass soundtrack.
Haha, true
Godzilla pure mothafucking filler, get ur eyes on the real killer
@@Mrdanny40 exactly, American Imperialism. Brother
Bruh they’re not talking about the movie itself. 🤦🏻🤡 But the motive behind making the very first one.
All the years of listening to them, Metallica , System of a Down, and others and now that I am older, I didn't really let the lyrics sink in until recently. I've always enjoyed the music, awesome beats and now I really appreciate the lyrics, because they truly hit the nail on the head. Thanks for posting the lyrics. 😎
An entire generation silenced by the actual boomers. We gave ample warning and went unheard by so many. The reckoning has arrived and the Revolution still will not be televised.
The first stanza says it all. We don’t win anything with our wallets. We win with our collaborated and unionized labor.
@@cgidd8 and at the ballot box. GenX was always outnumbered by the boomers so our votes never meant anything. It's an oft overlooked fact about how we got here. I'm 53 and there has never been a president of my generation, you know the "We Are The World" generation? It's always been profit over people and that's how RATM captured many of us. Just like Occupy Wall Street, we have been the marginalized voice of an entire generation for decades.
lol i was always a lefty but im still getting every lyric now. I think they left hints as to how we could move things along, comrade.
@@hotzenmonster YES!!! US Xers were many/most of us, very abused by our parents the Boomers/younger Great Gens. Hold the line, comrade!!!!
I think the Godzilla line is also in reference to how the in the movie, the military causes more destruction in the process of killing Godzilla, than Godzilla does itself. Cool double meaning.
Hit the nail right on the head.
I revisit this song constantly, even though growing up it was not one of my favorites of rage... It is now.
Same. But it's always been my favourite song of Rage. The lyrics are pure basic 101 knowledge, which is what they have expertise in. Immortal Technique too
Absolutely!
It is not something to be ashamed of that you were late in seeing the light my child, only that you see it now.
2021 this lyrics are still impressive powerful and truthful
This riff is a certified fuckin banger. I wish these guys would just start playing random concerts on the steps of city halls and landmarks all over the US
Inconvenient truths are not depressing for strong minds it's liberating thank you RATM
BINGO!!!!
"Make you think buying is rebelling" I JUST REALLY LIKE THE STOCK
We need these guys more than ever !!!!
@therockkkkher yeah stupid, I'm aware, what does his money have do with his message to the world ? Clearly he was ahead of his time, we need the same message in 2020 Zack was delivering in the 90's !
@therockkkkher your feeble attempt to make a point has failed, MOVE ON !
No we don't. Just stupid kids will be on the streets thinking they're edgy by listening to this.
I was listening to this shit 20 years ago.
The only thing you need is faith, not a Marxist band.
@@skutterbuster666 HAHAHA faith what a joke !
Less then ever* fixed it for ya
They make you think buying is rebelling is literally what Zizek said about these recyclable startbucks cups which cost a little bit more but at the same time make you think that you contribute to the saving of mother earth :))
micro brain activity
It's a thin line everywhere..." the front line is everywhere.
This guy is a genius.. layers in all his lyrics..
I still remember buying Evil Empire the day it dropped on CD and fell in love with RATM, they were one of the realest outspoken bands of all time, and they literally warned us of everything years ago but nobody listened...oh well...
Evil Empire is a good album from front to back. Not one bad song and was my introduction to Rage.
"Renegades don't die they multiply"
How did humanity let These people slip through our fingers....Such a gift to be ignored.
They were basically communists though...
I’d rather that than corporatists.
@@ArthurMorgan-_- “Basically” lmaoo they were communists. Which makes them even better
@@JeffPiascik you must be a zoomer
These lyrics are way over here we are in 2021 n wow this guy is more accurate than your local media
This one goes out to all my federal government employees feeling the need to stalk me. Have a nice day 😊
This is the right song to hear right now ...
Still ringing true 2022🥺
NEED THIS NOW
Zach is an immortal. It's like he shows us behind the curtain.
Well Said
Godzilla pure filler *ON THE GODZILLA SOUNDTRACK* ....that's dopeness there....
I was fortunate enough to be in my 20’s in the 90’s (I was born in DC in 1971) & being a music lover was the tits....while I agree that what Rage stood for & were talking about are just as relevant today as they were then (maybe more so) I find it kinda sad that no young band has come out swinging like that since the 90’s...are young people not pissed at all theses days ? I genuinely would like to know why all these killer bands blew up back then & it just stops? 🤷🏼♂️🤨
Bands are all still ruled and quelled by corporate interests. Rage is probably the last one that got away with shitting on colonialism, corporatism and (ultimately) capitalism, but their message still managed to be culled by the corporate pigs. Hell, Bulls on Parade is still played prior to the start Houston Texans games by the son of an owner who compared his players to (black) prisoners in an institution. Rage’s lyrics have been so bastardized and re-instituted over the years that’s it’s almost painful to watch their live videos on RUclips. I’m not gonna blame them, ultimately. It’s a force that’s inevitable and impossible to stop.
Commercialism won out, in case you haven't noticed. The younger generations have been completely and utterly brainwashed into buying, watching, reading, and listening to SHIT. I believe the corporations hadn't yet perfected the art of programming young minds to serve their interests..... They have now. They have it down pat, I'd say.

I want to see Rage live sooooooo bad like so bad probably more then almost anybody else!!!
They're AMAZING live, saw them at Woodstock '99!
I really think this is the song they should use for the end credits of the next matrix movie, it fits on every level ;)
Especially now
One of the best songs ever by one of the best bands ever....long live Rage Against The Machine!!!
Americanize, Americanize! View the world from American eyes!
2022!?!? Still staring and living the nightmare. LGB!
Memories erased, and burned and scarred
To the 5 people that disliked this video, I bet you miss when you play "Ball in a Cup"
THANKS U SO MUCH FOR THE LYRICS 🙏🙏🙏🙏💜💜💜💜🕊🕊🕊🕊
Check out a Rage song called Darkness, it was written for the film the Crow, it’s not on any of their albums, but it’s a real belter, lyrics are good but the song as a whole is awesome, draws you in with some subtle clean guitar then BAM!!!
I listen to this song and I know the words of the song is exactly what REVELATIONS is about. The message is coded but their is directions to overcome "the beast."
"the main attraction, distraction"
Great!
I must've traded my HISTORY FOR A VCR ! AT this point I have no choice they say what I can keep for memories!!!
HOLY FUCK
I used to like the music now I love the lyrics

Got a dope pair of Nikes on.

No shelter here...huh.
Magic wand : Hollywood misbehaving.
Anyone think it's weird how the original music video went missing in the last year or so?
The one from their album sounds different from this version, doesn't it? Unless my memory served me incorrectly, I remember that being the case, but this is the only version I can find.
My parents were pissed when I traded my history for a VCR... until I told them that I held out for a model with an automatic head cleaner
wow, daily corona updates 2020, just staaaaarrrre! just stare!
There be no shelter here ✊
And live the nightmare...
Yes the same ones that are inflated to push through an agenda. Die in a car crash = C19.
@@botany500kojak exactly, 100% fraud virus
I love this
not jmust the history but the way capitalism entraps us
Why isn’t it “American eyes, Americanize, view the world from American Eyes?”
If you're gonna make a video about the lyrics to a song, you should make sure they're correct
Where did he mess up?
@@JLD5500 dope pair of Nikes ON. Zach alo uses a rather old fashioned racial slur for a black fella that thia dude gets wrong. "Americanize, Americanize" thats three. Shall I continue dickweed?

Back when woke actually meant something
Godzilla: pure mother-fucking filler, to get your eyes off the real killer

no, taiwan no shelter there
(Luke 12:49-53)
34Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn
‘A man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
36A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household
I hate that Godzilla line. Godzilla, the original movie was an incredibly depressing allegory for the destruction of Nuclear war. It was the same sort of rebellious art that Rage is.
The real killer is the People in Charge trying to kill Godzilla, blowing up everything, causing more destruction than Godzilla would have if left alone.
2024 Moscow concert hall attack. No shelter here, the front line is everywhere.
Never been so hurt by a band selling out on its ideals.
I dont think this dude got all the lyrics correct
Disagree with the message, but delivers it perfectly.
What exactly do you disagree with? No hate just curious
No message here. Just knowledge.
I like the original Mel Torme version of this song better.
RAGE KNOWS ABOUT THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE ALL TOO WELL, TRIED TO TELL US! AMEN! JESUS 2020!
They should be called "Rage Against Half the Machine." They seem to love the machine now. 😂😂😂
Well a ton of the lyrics are wrong but ok
Lol ok mate. Time to wake up and realise what kind of world you live in. I hope you wake up but I’m not counting on it
I hate the lyrics, but this song is so good I don't care.
@@jparagal I just disagree. I understand why people completely agree with what the song says but I honestly don't think that there is a problem in this. I knew that people would have a problem with this, but just wanted to make it clear I disagree but love the song.
Noah Jacobs the wealthiest people thrive in our society if you want more evidence you need to look.. just wake the fuck up... please
@@jezzalinko7879 not disagreeing that the wealthiest people have the best lives, just the notion that their and their families work and smart moves shouldn't have gotten them where they are.
