Living so close to KSC we routinely got to see shuttle launches. I saw the Challenger disaster with my own eyes... I looked up into the sky and my 15 year old eyes couldn't understand what I was seeing. The twin trails going off into different directions just didn't make sense. I never thought they'd launch again, but thankfully I was wrong. Similarly, I saw and took photos of Columbia's final launch. I was heartbroken for weeks after that disaster. There has been a lot more triumph than tragedy and needless to say I am a huge advocate for the space program. Go NASA!
CPark Kids oh get out of here and go wash up for dinner. Your mom expects your homework to be done as well.... who let 12 year olds roam free on the interwebbings with these ridiculous theories.
Gosh...I think most of us 80s kids remember the shock of the Challenger disaster. It was my boyfriend's (at the time) birthday. Side fact...actor Carol Spinney who plays Big Bird on Sesame Street was almost a passenger on the ill-fated flight.
There is 479 comments that i see on my smart phone. But only 371 while i'm logged in on my desktop computer. I refresh the webpage and my comments are still here. But i couldn't see them on my other computer or smart phone and i'm not logged in on those devices.
My dad was an aeronautical engineer and dedicated 40 years of his life to the space program. They were in Florida and witnessed Apollo 10, we lived and breathed space as kids. In my hallway I've signed pictures of some of the astronauts. Thank you Adam, my dads no longer with us, but you gave me some great memories!!! Got my WOO FIX FOR THE DAY!!!!! Whoop!!😀😀😀
Cool vid! My friend was working in Fort Lauderdale, Fl the morning of the Challenger disaster. He remembers the day being very cold for south Fl with a brilliant blue sky........when his boss ran past him and said Challenger exploded. He said almost the entire building was out front looking north and said you could see the vapor trails in the sky, then a big mess of stuff. Sad day
I can well remember watching Apollo 11 launch on July 20, 1969.... my dad got emotional right along with Walter Cronkite....I can also remember, with Apollo 13, we were gathered in the lunch room at school and watched on a tiny television set on the small stage... wondering if they were going to make it or not. I loved today's Vlog.... I wanted to go to NASA when I was in Florida, but we never made time for it.... however, we did see the launch pads.... my friend took me to where you could park and watch by a little lake. I wish we could have seen more of the displays, but I would guess probably not a lot of areas there would allow filming. Thank you Adam, and Tim Tracker for a fun time at NASA..... I didn't think it was still called The Kennedy Space Center....or is just not called Cape Kennedy anymore?
Hah! That would be so unbelievably awkward! "Yeah. i'm the one astronaut that didn't make it into the Hall of Fame." Constantly shows up at the reunions and gets a little too drunk every time and ends up crying in the bathroom. "Come on Dan. You went to space! You did something very few people have ever done!" "Then why am I not on the tour Gina?!" More like Astro-Not!
I remember being a junior in high school when the Challenger explosion occurred. Our government teacher was one of the teachers in the running to go on that mission. What a sad day.
One of the most funniest blogs u made so far.. You can tell that you and Tim are such good friends... And jenn of course.... And to the world.... Have a great weeekend Greetings from Oslo,Norway
My Dad did the QA on the Space Shuttle's windows at Optical Coating Laboratories ( OCLI) in Santa Rosa, CA back in the 70s. I still have samples and tiles (Corning Glass) and the little necklace that NASA gave to all of their contractors families. I really want to visit all of that stuff! Thanks so much for doing what you do everyday!
Much fun... thanks for sharing 1986 disaster. I remember i was sitting in the library of my 8th grade class watching the shuttle live on tv. We were sent back to class soon after in shock.
I remember the Challenger Explosion as well. My Teacher hyped it up for weeks, because the first teacher will be in space. We all signed our names on cards and sent it to NASA, it was a big deal! We saw the explosion and carried on. Middle School kids were tough back in the day 👍🏼 No counseling necessary
Yes, heroes! I doubt you would ride a giant rocket full of fuel into space where a million different things could go wrong and do at times. There was the Apollo 1 in 1967 where the crew cabin caught fire and all three burned to death, 1986 space shuttle crash on lift off and 2003 space shuttle exploded returning to earth. A total of 18 astronauts have died during the space program and the number is disputed because the Russians have hidden some of their early accidents during the 60s space race. There is the Ron Howard movie that depicts the Appolo 13 that came close to being stranded in space until their air ran out. These people have taken incredible risks for the advancement of American technology and back in the 60s, they were doing something that had never been done before. Yeah, Heroes!
Dr Phibes my brother is a fire fighter, so I take a hero as someone who will run into a burning house or go up to a burning car to pull out a baby from a car seat. I don't see going to space as a "hero" thing to do. yes it was super sad they died. but what is the purpose for going into space? what are they realy going to do there that is hero status?
Well, believe or not I'm a retired firefighter/paramedic of 30 years and I worked in a city that is always in the top five for highest crime rate and fires. The only reason I state that is to show I was not sitting around waiting for a call to happen, I spent my whole career in the ghetto and have more than enough crazy experiences within that 30 years. Trust me, I know what taking risks are and I'm sure if you asked your brother that he would agree with me that astronauts take major risks more so those in the 60s and 70s and have an enormous amount of training most are highly skilled pilots from the Air Force and the others are scientests, and they have done a huge amount of experiments in space that have helped modern medicine, etc.. too much to name, do a little research and you will see what I'm talking about and yes it is very dangerous to be in space with a limited amount of oxygen, food, water, etc... and they have had to do space walks to repair things outside of the ship which again is very dangerous. please do a little research on the dangers of space and you will see the risks they take for science.
My dad use to be in the Coast Guard reserves back in the 80s, his job was to drive around VIPs at Cape Canaveral. He was out sick during the Challenger disaster.
I was at school the day of the Challenger disaster. The principal came over the intercom and told everyone about it. Then we patiently waited for our turn with the TV on the rolling cart so that we could watch. I will never forget that. I loved y'all wearing the small helmets! LOL Your glasses did make you look so much cooler! Great vlog today!
I'm so excited you made this video. I've always wanted to go here! I visited the Houston Space Centre last year (video on my channel) but this is really the holy grail for space fans. One day I will get to Florida and visit!! Sometime in the next few years they're putting one of those big fuel tanks and the SRB's into the science museum in Los Angeles where they have the Endeavour. Can't wait to see that!!
Excellent Vlog, seeing Tim Tracker was a sweet bonus. In 1986, I was 13 and in 7th grade when the shuttle disaster occurred. What a wonderful display to honor all those great people.
when i was 6 years old i went to the launch of the challenger that morning i will never forget seeing the shuttle taken off from there i knew something was wrong but who whould believe a 6 year old in 1986 i will never forget it and when i went back years later i was 24 they was holding a memorial service and they awarded me with a coin and a key of the challenger i cryied with sadness i will always keep it close to my heart the teacher on the shuttle was my school teacher i didn't go on the shuttle because back then money was very tite between my family
One trip we made to watch a shuttle launch actually stopped on that road at 7:44 mark and watched the shuttle launch, it was a restricted area, I went up the road and asked a security guard if we where allowed to be on this road...He said "If I can't see you I don't know your here" so we went down the road and sat on the bank, it was pitch black until they ignited the boosters then it lit up like noon time you could actually feel the Radiant Heat from it ACROSS that bay. Would have been early 90s maybe 93-95 sometime. Really cool, my kids where privileged to 2 shuttle launches...Really breath taking experience... Another GREAT Video TDW
I'm sitting at a shipper here in Minnesota getting loaded when I saw your vlog pop up featuring the Kennedy Space Center!! Ahhh, it brought back many childhood memories of family vacays to Florida and the Space Center. Absolutely loved today's vlog! You two goofballs play well off one another. Boy, I wish that they had sold astronaut ice cream back in the day when I went there as a red-headed tomboy! Thanks for the memories, hun, and safe travels. 😊
I was 10 years old & in the 5th grade at a Catholic school & vividly remember that they had brought a tv in for us to watch the take off. I still get chills when I think of that day.
Awww man... ya'll was right down the street from my house yesterday! Unfortunately I was at work here on Merritt Island and have to now live vicariously through this video the day after!
i went to KSC in '68. I got to see something take off. not sure if it was the first man flight. heck I was only 8…but I remember the rumble an ground shaking. got to be in control room also during this flight.
Is there a separate one from the Mirror?? I always found the Mirror kind of creepy in a way - it's huge, with just a handful of names scattered across it. It was made huge deliberately... so there is plenty of space to add many more names.
Adam I'm surprised you didn't want to ride your bike down the slide, hey there is another NASA space museum in Alamogorda, NM not as hands on as Johnson, or Kennedy, but really entertaining, they also have the oldest zoo in the southwest, and white sands missile range.

I was in 6th grade watching the launch at school. I was a super space nerd, and when it happened it was like watching your favorite super heroes die.
Adventures by George I was in third grade at Rossi Jeffries outside watching it
Adventures by George wow
I was driving north on the Turnpike and I saw it happen. Couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. I'll never forget it.

Ruthy D Right, if NADA had a big enough space suit, big bird would be dead!
I just got Trackered !
This needs to be a new t-shirt! I love it 😂😂😂
Can you ask adam if he has me blocked. I just went to this video on my smart phone not being logged in and I can't see my comments.

Well, Ding Dang.
You and Tim crack me up, those helmets were cool lol

This thumbnail popped up and all I could think is... "those masks are the future of masking in society".

I love seeing you too in the same videos and you went to one of my favorite places thank you again hope you have a wonderful rest of the day
Another oddly compelling vlog. To infinity and beyond!!
Safe travels for when you get back on the road with Large Marge, Adam! Can't wait to see what kinda vlogs are coming up!
I was disappointed and surprised when Adam didn't imitate Arnold Schwarzenegger when targeting the helicopter!
Adam, that device is called a mosquito magnet. We actually used to assemble those at where I work. Pretty neat contraption.
Hah! That would be so unbelievably awkward! "Yeah. i'm the one astronaut that didn't make it into the Hall of Fame." Constantly shows up at the reunions and gets a little too drunk every time and ends up crying in the bathroom. "Come on Dan. You went to space! You did something very few people have ever done!" lol!
Hi Adam. I hope all is well. Always cool videos from you. Hope to film a vlog with you one day.
I was 14 when they wheeled the TV in to watch Challenger. Left us all in a state of shock.
Your The Best Adam !!!! I wait for your notifications every morning before I head to college ! Love it!
Two things...
1.When that helicopter flew over and you said nothing, everyone watching heard you say 'get to the chopper!'.
2.Am I the only one who saw you and Tim in those helmets and thought of The Muppets... PIGS IN SPAAACE?
I remember being a junior in high school when the Challenger explosion occurred. Our government teacher was one of the teachers in the running to go on that mission. What a sad day.
I remember Columbia and Challenger. Seems NASA didn't learn anything from Columbia
One of the most funniest blogs u made so far.. You can tell that you and Tim are such good friends... And jenn of course....
And to the world.... Have a great weeekend
Greetings from Oslo,Norway
Awesome Vlog as Always! Enjoy your Weekend 💜 God Bless!

Good Morning and Happy Friday Everyone 👍🏼

I was in 11th grade high school in 1962. What a great thrill the space program was.
I miss the Kennedy Space Center, went all the time when I was kiddo 😁 Have a great day, Adam!
all those astronauts were true heroes.
Dr Phibes heroes?
Yes, heroes! I doubt you would ride a giant rocket full of fuel into space where a million different things could go wrong and do at times. Dr Phibes ps I would not get on it no and I would not get on a risky ride at a Disney park either

My great uncle worked on the Apollo missions! Shunkagunkagun!
Good morning! Have a great day, Mr. Woo! :)

So awesome Adam!! When I was a kid I wanted to go to the space center so bad...thanks for taking me along
GREAT VIDEO!!! I love when you have "guests" on/in? the vlog.
I was 12 in 1962 and totally fascinated with the Space Program. My bedroom wall was covered with the newspaper articles of the 60's space launches.
Awesome vlog Adam. Loved it
I went to Titusville to watch one of the final shuttle launches. It was cool but the traffic getting out was insane. Backed up half way to Orlando.
Good morning Adam❤️🌻
"Why is your microphone on your eye?" 😂
Love when u are with Tim
I really enjoyed this video you and Tim make a good team and the space center is something I would love to see, thanks for the videos Adam.
thanks Adam and Tim for taking me back to Kennedy. We visited in August from the UK and loved our day there. Great to see it all again.🚀
Adam thanks for letting us tag along with you.Jet on

Adam, thank you, this video made my day!
Adam! We love your Vlog! My daughter wanted me to tell you that you weren't Trackered, you were "Pitted"!!!
Excellent Vlog, seeing Tim Tracker was a sweet bonus. In 1986, I was 13 and in 7th grade when the shuttle disaster occurred. What a wonderful display to honor all those great people.
I've been watching u every single day for over a year now, Adam! U are the best!
Jan. 28 is my birthday. I'll never forget the Challenger incident happening on my 10th birthday. I watched it live.
Wow that was great - thank you Adam, good vlog! ☺
KSC is one of my favorite places in Florida. Thanks for showing them some love!
Tim is my favorite vlog partner for you. This was another very informative day. Thanks.
I'm moving to Titusville in a month, Cant wait to see all this again!!!
good vlog today Adam I enjoyed it

In spite of being young, I still grasped how heart wrenching it must have been for the families of the victims, as they watched.
Awww man... ya'll was right down the street from my house yesterday! Unfortunately I was at work here on Merritt Island and have to now live vicariously through this video the day after!
Thanks for the great trip, Mr Woo! 👍🏼😎
so will Adam get banned from KSC in the next video?
Gonna miss these, really enjoy you guys..
Well, that was awesome. Thanks heaps Adam!
One of my favorite places! Great video guys!
This seems like a really interesting place. Thanks for sharing.
The woman who wore an adult diaper to see her lover in Florida might not make the Hall Of Fame !!
Great vlog man, keep em coming
Florida really is an awesome state.
You are correct, Adam. According to Wikipedia, "The VAB is the largest single-story building in the world".
Another great video
I've been there. Its a very worthwhile place to visit.
i went to KSC in '68. I got to see something take off. not sure if it was the first man flight. heck I was only 8…but I remember the rumble an ground shaking. got to be in control room also during this flight.
I was hoping to see some Sprockets! Good times guys. Happy Friday
Did they move the astronaut hall of fame to the main part of Kennedy Space center that use to be the space camp?
Brilliant. I love these vlogs!
Kennedy Space Center never gets old, you didn't show the Challenger/Columbia memorial

Gene Plumstead , YES! a lot to explore in NM.
It’s not NASA.
You two should have really had those small helmets for the slide! Maybe even the whole tour! Would have been Amazing! Kinda like Spaceballs!
I hope you saw Alantis shuttle. That was the coolest
Really great fun video! Thanks Woo!
i love when you two vlog together! you guys are hilarious and seem great friends!
When Challenger exploded I was home my day off from work.I spent most of the day watching it on CNN
I have never been to the Space Center, thank you for the field trip.
Thank you for taking me there from Australia , Nice one
Thanks for sharing Adam...!
Looking mighty dapper today my friend.
I have been to Kennedy Space Center before back in 1989. WOW! They still have some same rockets there.
