140$ for the aero bottles?? Thats ridiculous!Should come come with the frame if they are such a big feature of the bike.

wasn't the front wheel resting on the ground when weighed, or maybe just the camera angle.

I can’t Stand that they put the di2 wire in the rear in the middle of the chain stay. For that reason alone i wont buy this bike

I don't buy that it's more aero without some kind of indepedent aero tunnel testing. I think they were able to make the claims that it is "just as aero" as the previous madone because of the water bottles that fill in the bottom section of the main triangle of the frame. That being said, I bet if you got some aero bottles on the gen 7 madone it would likely be more aero. I think this is more of a bussiness move to avoid having so many different frames to produce, and the marketing team needed to find a way to make it seem like a good choice. They also used to charge $3400 CAD for the emonda SL5 and now the Madone SL5 is $4800. $1400 extra for what? A speed hole and arguably more aero tubing that might acount for 5 watts at like 45km/h? Again, I'd like to see some proper aero testing but this just seems like a marketing scheme to improve bussiness.

Exactly, Trek is going to whine how sales are down but do this

Totally agree about them only doing this to reduce SKU's, but assuming its even reasonably fast it should still be at least a 10 watt improvement on the Emonda. Tour tested the 2023 Emonda at 222 and the 2023 Madone at 207. Assuming the new Madone is 210ish (a little slower than SL8 and RCR) it should still be a decent savings. Honestly given how slow the Madone is compared to other aero bikes maybe it's a good thing trek is giving up on full on aero.

The di2 wire at the rear deraileur is a bad joke. Havent seen a heavier more ugly bike than this in a long time. The gen 7 was a gorgeous weapon. This thing is dead on arrival.

Did they forget the TREK logo or is this cost & weight savings😅 the rear derailleur cable seems under tension, but other than that a nice ride...
