After I watched the trailer I checked the site and I think the game is goin to be pretty good, a lot of varieties to look forward to
It's getting a summer release, so somewhere between June and August. :)
No exact date was given yet because they're still running beta, but almost done.
I'd recommend registering for beta testing if you haven't already, starting in June onward till release for PS3.

While we may not "Need" SE to do MMOs, I think their take with XI and XIV 2.0, like Guild Wars 2, can show a different kind of experience in this genre. I think SE is well invested in this now and it's going to be something they're really committed to making work for us as fans. I also feel like this should also be accompanied as soon as possible with a really good single player console game and that, is only a matter of time :)

All my life of playing MMOs and RPGs, I was always the Mage/Wizard. This time, I'm gonna go for the swordsman.
Played the beta. Can't say anything cept that this game is going to wreck face. So amazing and not a day goes by I dont think of its release.

What are your PC specs?
6654 was my score. Score will mostly depend on your graphics card, mine isn't even that new, GTX 580.
I've also had access to all the beta's so far. Yet I managed to miss them ALL xD I've only once logged in and played for ten minutes :P I'll be sure to keep my eye out for phase 3 at least. I am curious as I pre-ordered the original ffxiv at the time, and we all know how good that was. *cough*

You completely forgot about FF Versus 13 to where it is bring back the world map system but has a battle system similar to that of Kingdom Hearts

i wouldn't mind if they used the battle system in FF12... I actually found it pretty refreshing and loved it being like a free roam type battle system, still trying to figure out what they were attempting to do with the battle system in 13, it made no sense to me, the characters can move around but you have no control over where they go and the only thing you can control is what action they'll do next... to sum it all up... I loved FF12 battle system and was greatly confused by FF13
I'm just going to throw it out there hate me if you want. I just think it would be insane if they brought back spell fusion from crystal chronicles. With the graphics and combat system it seems possible

You do know we wont be allowed to post anything in beta phase 3 right? We're only allowed to post character creation and then the other stuff on the ff14 beta forums

Wouldn't the score be different during actual gameplay? Should have shown others areas that weren't in the test.

Why don't they just make a Final Fantasy game Kingdom hearts gameplay style. Since it isn't the old way of FF where you stand and attack in turns. Doing it freely but still standing their doesn't feel right.
Somehow looks weaker than the old benchmark, even on max. I think it's because I liked the boat scene better than anything displayed here...

I been in this beta for quite a while. What Square Enix should do is this: Scrap the idea of mmos, we dont need it. Stop making FF13-3 no one really wants it, ofc i need to buy it to my FF collections.
Put all there time on FF15 and make the battle system either like FF7 or as FF10. And hopefully they have learnt that they need to have a freaking world map. So you can go explore not follow from point a to point b.
Only good thing coming from SE atm is remasterd FFX/X-2.

I don't understand how this score can be helpful to anyone without knowing your PC specs. Seems kind of pointless, unless this video is just to show off the benchmark cinematic itself.

Same director, and yet you deem the XIII series crap compared to the X series. Personally I liked XIII. And I really want Lightning Returns, because I think the guy has talent, which shows in his work.
I don't think you should be excited for FFX/X-2 remaster, because it's by the same guy who gave you XIII, XIII-2 and Lightning Returns. It CAN'T be good, can it?
