I’ve watched this numerous times; I am always so impressed with the way Mary Stuart moves. the clip has a mid to late 1970s look to it. That is nearly 3 decades on the air with MS clearly front and center as the show’s main character.
This touched my heart to hear this song so clearly ❤ I heard it on the 12/25/86 episode as background music, so I guess this was an annual thing to close out the show on Christmas?
This was one of loveliest songs Mary sang at Christmas. It’s too bad 1977 was such a dreadful year for Search. Irving and Tex Elman, followed by Robert J. Shaw, nearly ran the show into the ground after several wonderful years of good drama.
I am not into Christmas at all but one of the things I miss from old school soaps (aside from riveting trials and the long buildup to a fantastic story climax) is the holidays. The one time of the year where even the doom-prone residents of Henderson and Rosehill and Oakdale forget their troubles and gather together.
You can catch a quick glimpse of Hope Busby as Liza at 1:51 (she’s kissing Jo). Hope Busby briefly played the role between Meg Bennett and Sherry Mathis.
Beautiful song by Mary Stuart. May she rest in peace.

May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ help all of us to find the tomorrows we search for. Amen.
Xmas 1977. I loved the Xmas song that Mary wrote and sang on the show.

THIS YEAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN 71 YEARS ON AIR

Robert Shaw was one of my least favorite writers for the show during the CBS years.
I Didn't Know That David Mann From Tyler Perry Shows Was A Casting Director On Search For Tomorrow.
@@christopherslappey1681 He would only have been 11 years old in 1977.
@@a.b.s_productions Oh My Bad.
@@christopherslappey1681 Lol that would be something though.

@Draper Scott And of all places, YOU forgot Monticello!
@Draper Scott I thought maybe your amnesia came back. Kirk, is that you?

Hope Busby was also the real life wife of Stephen Burleigh who played Liza’s brother Dr. Gary Walton.
Here's another Christmas carol that didn't become a standard.
