      No problem 👍 just take your time it takes a few hours I'd book the day to do it just in case

    I didn't just remove the clutch pedal, but the entire assembly (pedal and bracket)! Much easier, one man job.

    Hi, How did you disconnect the electric connector on the master cylinder. I can't do it. As a consequence I can't pull out the pipe going to the slave cylinder. Help appreciated.

      Try pushing it into itself and then lifting the tab and pull back.
      I can't recall but I normally use a small pick /hook tool to lift the the locking tab up and then pull it back at the same time

    Hi , thanks for the great video , I have just completed this on my wife's and i would have really struggled without this step by step guide , I have one issue which you may have come across when doing this repair . Clutch is working fine mechanically but I do not seem to be getting any signal from the position sensor which fits onto the back of the master cylinder , I basically took it off the old Master Cylinder and fitted it to the new one , I have scanned the car and I am getting ttwo permanent codes P0805 Clutch Master Cylinder Position Measurement , signal not plausible , and P0806 Clutch Master Cylinder Position Measurement Variation on Voltage outside the Tolerance ., just wondering when you changed the Master Cylinder was this sensor just plug and play or did you have to do anything to make it work ?. this issue has stopped the gear shift indicator on the dash and also the cruise control , The car has electric Handbrake , the Master Cylinder i fitted was Valeo 804921 , i have checked this part no. and it looks to be ok , any advice you could give on this matter would be really appreciated .
    Thank you
    Rgds Dave

      Hi I don't recall 100% but I didn't have any problems like you did after fitting it. Just make sure all the plugs are 100 % connected even undo them any reconnect them.

    Good to see a metal rod , but that plastic clip you would think should also be metal ?

    An another request for advice. My old master cylinder has been removed as well as the clutch pedal and its structure (I didn't took just the pedal off). I think of putting first the pedal +Spring+Structure back in and then the master cylinder (from the engine compartment). Do you think this is the right way to do it?
    Reason is that when I took the pedal structure off, the master cylinder rod didn't make the task easy as it was blocking space to move the pedal to find the right position.

      Hey it's a painful job to do. But yes try it the way you said.
      It was very hard to get the master cylinder back in place just hard to lock it in

    • @thestorytelleruk
      @thestorytelleruk 5 месяцев назад +1

      I remove the clutch pedal and assembly to change the broken pedal clip. Putting the new clip is was easy: Fold it around the ball of the master cylinder, line it up with the inside of the clutch pedal and depress the pedal. It should all click into place.

    Thanks for this guide which is very helpful. I have managed to get the pipes out but unable to twist open it. How did you do this? Space is so tight and I cannot get correct angle to twist it.

    • @murphyslaw2020
      @murphyslaw2020  2 года назад +1

      Hi, there was an hour or so of pure torture to get it out. You could try cutting / pulling apart the rubber seal part that goes onto the bulkhead even oiling the seal to make move easier. I can't remember exactly what I done but it wasn't easy

    • @Salman-xh2pj

      @@murphyslaw2020 OK so I took it out and put the new one in now which was alot of struggle as you mentioned. I had to pull the rubber out a bit and then twist close it. Now the problem I am having is pressure pipe is not going back in. I have tried hard to push it in but it's not working. Any idea wots I m doing wrong here?

    • @murphyslaw2020

      There might be a shipping plug in the new part just make sure it's out. Let me know how you get on

      @@murphyslaw2020 new cylinder came with two yellow plugs one on return pipe and one on pressure pipe location. I ve removed both plugs. I have even tried to remove the clip and then push pressure pipe in the hole but it's not going in. Unlike this one slave cylinder was an easy fix, even pressure pipe was easy to push in as well. I don't wot I m doing wrong.

    • @murphyslaw2020
      @murphyslaw2020  2 года назад

      @@Salman-xh2pj hi if I remember correctly there is a rubber seal on the end of the high pressure pipe. This can come loose and get stuck in the slave or master. It normally gets stuck in the old part and the pipe will fit in but leak as there is no seal.
      Try pulling up the wire clip when fitting might help.
      You could have the wrong part. Iv seen this alot as there is a build number on Citroen and Peugeot normally on the door jam sticker. It could be the right part on the parts shop computer but it won't fit and there a different part in the same year even within a month of the car been made .
      Hope that helps keep us updated
