I just bought this and coincidentally had the same old trimmer which you mentioned (QT series) for many years and never had a problem with it (until its solo attachment broke in the bag, because it didn’t come with a pouch and I didn’t buy one). I bought a Philips multigroomer 7791/40 which is totally made of aluminium and also get 11 years warrenty.
Btw trimmer is not made of aluminium. Its same which is found in mg7715.

Now coming to your question, yes Wahl trimmer are exceptionally good. Infact wahl 8841 is my favourite trimmer too. It just don't fit in my budget at the moment, so I'm just wishing... 😅
See philips have their own USPs like good battery, affordability, huge options to choose from, good warranty, good customer support, but wahl trimmers are long lasting in term of build quality and durability.
However considering these two (wahl 8841 vs Philips mg7715), I would go with Philips because I need complete grooming kit for myself, plus it is maintenance free, (no oiling needed here). But if you're not looking for full grooming set with multiple combs and attachments, you can simply get wahl 8841 which comes with just 4 combs. Also it is less noisy than philips trimmer. And yes it does give better performance too.

Have one question, since lockdown at present most barber saloons are out of bounds, can I use this for cutting scalp hair(head).?? please revert, if this is not the right one then could you please recommend any other thanks in advance.
Yes you can use it on your head. And if you're good with it, you can Infact do it much better than any barber shop. I tried it once, didn't got the haircut what I was expecting but it was fun. 😅

Yes i think MG7715 - amzn.to/2uLNM3R is a good choice, only issue is that it's bit slow on body hair removal process. Other than that it is fantastic. But eventually with some patience & multiple passes it gets the job done.
However if you're looking for more advanced trimmer, you do have to spend more on it also things like long battery life and good build quality, multiple attachments etc don't come under this price range.
There are a few other brands like Braun which are very good but very expensive for the same equipment. In Philips this is second best choice after mg7715 - amzn.to/2WOyh7f

Bro you can go with this trimmer for all your gromming needs including nose, ear, underarms and intimate area. But just like any other gromming trimmer you need to be extra cautious while operating at these places. Yes it is safe, but you can still get cuts and bruises if not done properly.
It is durable enough, unless you're are throwing it anywhere after every use. Otherwise it can withstand minor falls and blades are completely maintenance free, only cleaning is required. No oiling needed!
Yes it has dedicated adjustable comb, & fixed length comb attachments for such operations, you can use that to cut your scalp hair.

You said you prefer longer beard settings, so this has dedicated combs (3-7mm adjustable beard comb) just for that plus you can do a whole lot of things in full body grooming.

Now coming to your questions, yes this is one of the best trimmer Philips is offering to Indian buyers currently, but hey they're are some more advanced and expensive ones too but they have couple of issues like incompatible voltage inputs, charging sockets, charging time, warranty. So I would not recommend you to go with any of those Philips Norelco models, those are not made for India.

It's slightly expensive than this mg7715 but you'll get an extra attachment, and a carry case (finally!) 😅

No, you can directly use it in wet condition. However for storing it is recommended to dry it properly for obvious reasons.

Hey, thanks for this helpful video. I have a couple of doubts, can I use stubble combs(1 and 2 mm) as beard comb? I like my beard short, less than 2 mm and the beard comb starts from 3mm in this trimmer. U mentioned 1.5 mm in the video and there are just 1 and 2 mm options, how can you do 1.5mm? Yes for stubble there are 2 separate combs 1,2mm. 3-7mm one is adjustable beard comb.
About 1.5mm length, I was actually giving tips on keeping beard short (stubble look). In general 1.5-2mm length settings are perfect for stubble beard. (Just like you said) But you won't get 1.5mm here in this trimmer.

I already own a philips QT4011 and I realised the motor is not powerful enough for head hair cut and also the hair starts to get settled between the blades asking for clean it while after every pass..Pls clarify if the motor of 7715 is more powerful, also will hair gets stuck between blades as in QT?
Yes it is lot better than QT4011. Some hair will stuck but that's a part of comb trimmers.
However you can easily shave/trimmer head hairs with least trouble unlike the QT4011.

I wouldn't recommend you to go with bt5200 for body hair trimming bro. It is fantastic trimmer for beard but I'm afraid to tell that it won't the serve the purpose for your body hair.
On the other hand mg7715 is full body grooming tool, so you can easily run it everywhere on your body without any problem.

2 quick question
1) Can I shave my facial hair using this ( confused with term Trimmer instead of Shaver ) ?
2) Is the Nose and ear trimmer any good ?
Shaver gives you closest possible cut. Like a shaving blade.
Trimmer just trims the hair strand without reaching to the skin, therefore it gives a stubble look. It can range from 0.5mm and goes all the way to 10mm or more (depends on different trimmers)
Yes nose trimmer works pretty fine. Just tingle a bit.

No, it's not like that. Trimming, keeping it in focus, not creating mess, looking at the screen. It is difficult to do everything properly on camera. I didn't wanted to show hairs all over me, so I just used 1 setting down my beard length.

basically we choose trimmers for avoiding rough on the skin , the disadvantage of shavers .
if we use shavers as teenagers with time beard will look more mature and rough like 30+ age youngsters.

Hiii I am planning to buy this trimmer, I have used d QT 4011/15 and it didn't feel skin friendly at all. It most often used to bruise my side burns area whenever I used to get a detailed cut. However, like you said in the video, this trimmer (MGK 7715) is a pain specially if you are going to trim the body hair...!!! What exactly do u mean to convey by this. MG7715 is good trimmering kit but few attachments like body shaver is painful experience for me I'm saying this as it requires multiple passes to achieve good finish and because when shaving body hair you need it to be fast and effective, However it feels sluggishly slow and it really did disappointed me in this department.

No I personally don't think body grommers are any good compared to Multi-grooming trimmers as they can provide you with huge range of attachments each specifically designed for a particular area of the body which you have compensation with just 3-4 combs or an adjustable comb for your entire body grooming in body grommer.
Only drawback is that most of the Multi-grooming trimmers are not so pocket friendly due to its n number of attachments.
Anyway I would still like to recommend you go with Multi-grooming trimmers since they have attachments for side burns, goatee, bread, body, head, nose & ear and even can be used on intimate areas.

Yes this is good product for full body grooming but If slightly tighter on budget, get MG3730/15 model as it partially serves body grooming purpose. But comes at a huge cost of charging vs backup duration i.e. 16 hours charge for just 1 hour backup. Also I won’t recommend Philips Norleco range. Why purchase something which is not made for India & spend more bucks to make it compatible. You end up paying a price for which you can get 7000 series model on offer. So if you want all-round good quality body grooming kit, get it without any second thought. Philips is known for its quality & never lets us down. Well at last it's your take bro 😎

What is the white grease present on that trimmer motor pin.And can i rinse the trimmer by removing metal attachment??
That is a Lubricant for smoother option of trimmer. It will rinse off after few washes. Yes you can easily wash full trimmer without any problem. It's fully waterproof.

That's completely different range. It's called Norelco. Which is very expensive for Indian consumers. However the main difference is no. of attachments in the bundle and power adapters. Power input frequency is not compatible with the Indian standard according to Philips India. Also its an outdated model. Company has discontinued it I think so, though not sure about it!

Is it's motor is better than BT5200 as I am using it but current I send it for replacement (trimmer is not starting).
And also while using this trimmer I have to use it while the cord is attached to power circuit as my beard is that tuff I can't use the BT5200 cordless (without cord I can't get fine trimming)
Now coming to MG7715/15 as it is to be used cordless so my concern is that will it's motor be as good as that it can beat the BT5200(with cord uses).

Well I haven't used BT5200 yet but MG7715 has definitely very powerful motor inside. It can run through all types of hair, it is meant for entire body hair trimming so don't worry about that. And not just the motor, blades are good too.
Anyway I don't think BT5200 trimmer is bad either, it's just your product with battery problem. Hopefully it will be sorted once you get the replacement otherwise if you're looking a full body trimmer under 4k budget then I would suggest you to go with MG7715/15 - amzn.to/2QTJpRD

Bro I got a call from Customer care they said that in replacement of My BT5200 they are providing BT7206.

Well If I were you I wouldn't have gone with BT7206 and I won't recommend that. This model has built-in vaccum which seems like good feature but we all know that such funky features don't last for long, it will eventually stop working. Thats why either ask them to replace with same model or like you said if they agree, you can upgrade with MG7715.

I bought philips Multigroom Series 5000 MG5730/15 and when i first opened it i found white cream inside the trimmer blade and precision blade.. Is this normal or does that mean it has been used before?
Ya it's perfectly normal, basically that is a greasy lubricant for smooth movement of the blades. Otherwise in long run it will create lot of noise. And due to noise it will create heat and shortened the overall life of trimmer. So don't remove it.
