Shotcrete is stronger then a block wall. It only demands one form wal l and is used for shoreing basement walls foundation repars swimming pools skate parks. False rock sculptures and more
What? A core filled & reinforced 20.01 block wall is a approximately as strong as the same thickness of intensity concrete . You don't build a wall out of shotcrete, you use it to finish of contiguous piling such as in a basement. Do you drill, pour piles, then excavate revealing the pilong/walls, then pin mesh reo to it and shotcrete it to get a flat surface
Great video for shotcrete work. It can be applied also to pour core wall in a highrise project beside basement as shown. It just need one side formwork prior to shotcrete started.....Disadvantage may be more time consume .
What do you mean by more time ? As in the speed of placement of the shotcrete? It all counters out ,the less time spent on form set up balances out when it comes to placement .the most I've ever shot in a day was 107 yards .and have poured with a line pump 250 yards in a day .there are crews that can place close to 200 yards of shotcrete in a day depending on the job site obsticsls and quality of material .it all equals out to time being saved you gotta remember also stripping forms on one side or two
Bigger transportation feat to ship in prefabricated pieces weighing up to tens of tons each. Then you have to secure them all whilst keeping them hoisted and in place with cranes etc. Alot easier/more fool proof to just have a guy go along with the hose
This is what I do for a living and I love it.

Is there any advantage of using shotcrete rather then concrete blocks?
