Great Catch Brother My favorite secne is the Copper Creek Viaduct when the 800 and 3632 are doing a Horn War contest Nathan M5 on 800 and RS5T on ClinchField 3632 like the 800 played "jingle bells" on the M5 The 800 is the Winner of the Horn Contest 👍👍👍👍👍✔️✔️✔️
Nice work on the video. The CSX made cooperation with the Union Pacific and took the UP 3985 as Clinchfield Challenger #676 on home rails for the 50th anniversary. Nothing like getting Christmas presents and wishes in Home Alone 2 and Aladdin in the same year and month when that happened.
awesome video, what a sight to see. Rode behind many of those engines with my parents and love them. Great job of restoration too, thanks CSX and all who helped sponsor this wonderful train. And to the photographer who captured this historic moment.
It was looking dire the last two years, but now that some freight traffic has returned to the Clinchfield line it looks like the Santa Train is here to stay.
That is a superb video!! The scenic locations chosen were each quite beautiful, and the video actually showed the PEOPLE who came out to see Santa and the train. And the camera crews did not stop recording when a few people "got in the way", which I really appreciate, as that is what always happens when a special train runs, and stopping recording would mean missing some great scenes. And I enjoyed seeing the long line of cars pacing the train. The crew making this wonderful video actually stayed in one place for some time for each section, which allowed viewers to enjoy the beautiful scenery and get a really good look at the entire train, train -- all 11 cars of CSX's beautiful and classy blue business train. The horns on the Clinchfield F unit are simply gorgeous!! That is real music! This is, quite simply, one of the best railroad videos I have ever seen. Thank you very much, Smoky Mtn Steam!! And thank you, CSX and the Southern Appalachia Railroad Museum, Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, ad everyone who had anything to do with the operation of this beautiful and very special train.
Every 4th of july, I end up going to a 'mountain vacation home' near davenport, or about 20 miles from haysi. I would always see the beginning of the blue ridge at elkhorn city everytime I went from ohio. Now, I live in florida, and going up 26 takes me to around the south edge of the line.
Great work Sean! I love in the first scene over the radio they say "use a lot of horn today" really wish i could have came and chased it with you, but things happen, maybe next year!

Thank you. CSX & SARM really outdid themselves with this event.
Great video SMS! I loved the scene up in mountains looking down into the valley at the train. Just gorgeous.
Thanks! The Breaks really is a beautiful area, I'd love to return sometime in the fall.
Love that F unit!!!
Excellent video! Thank you for posting.
Thanks!
The Clinchfield lives!
Amazing video. Love the last trestle shot!
+GT Rail Fan Productions Hi Gabe!
Glad to see they're still doing the Santa Train- looked for a while like it was going to go away

Thanks for sharing, the Clinchfield's territory is a great place to visit.
SmokyMtnSteam You're welcome.
First UP #3985 as Clinchfield #676 and now Clinchfield F Unit #800?! AWESOME
Good to see you this weekend! Jacksonville was very pleased by this.
Sorry to hear about Mr Flanary. To an outsider like me the whole thing seemed to go off without a hitch.
It did except for him.
Wow! This is a top notch video! I feel like I was there!
Thank you!
Great work Sean! I love in the first scene over the radio they say "use a lot of horn today" really wish i could have came and chased it with you, but things happen, maybe next year!
Thanks! I do hope you can make it sometime, its a good chase.
I actually really like that diesel horn that the clinch field diesel has

Thank you!
Excellent work.
Thank you!
It was a really good day of train chasing, hope you had fun also. Great video to. 👍
Thanks! Chasing the Santa Train was a great little adventure.
like the horn on Clinchfield 800.
Sweet video dude✌
Thanks!
SmokyMtnSteam np :3
How difficult is it to chase?
Fairly easy, the train goes rather slow and makes frequent stops. The biggest problem on this day was just the crowds and associated traffic.
BTW SCL 2024 not 2040
Can't believe I missed that. Fixed.
Ron Flanery at start
7:32, that cop walked right in front of your video. I would've been ticked.
Dante was a huge photo line, and he walked in front of everyone else too. Lots of unhappy railfans.
SmokyMtnSteam what a jerk.
Piece of advice- do NOT sass Southern cops!
My Uncle is a cop in Tennessee and I'll sass him if I wanna, lol.
Walk RIGHT in front of the camera, How RUDE is that ! But a cop, go figure !
My god that bell is annoying....
Too much horn and not enough cow bell.
