The latest episodes, drop 3, pick up right where we left Sonic in the last installment of Sonic Prime, in which he teamed up with his longtime rival Shadow to rebuild the Paradox Prism. But now Nine - an alternate Shatter Version of Sonic’s trusted friend Tails - betrays Sonic and takes the Paradox Prism for himself.
In this new batch of episodes, Sonic isn’t just racing to save his home of Green Hill, he’s racing to save the entire Shatterverse from his oldest friend, who has now become his greatest enemy. “You were only using me to get what you wanted,” Nine tells Sonic in the Season 3 clip. “Sorry, old friend. You’ve been replaced.”
