Met Pac in the parking lot of Club X's in '91 or '92 during the Freaknik. We had the trunk's open with the JBL speakers pumping Gotta Get Mine, with a trunk full of liquor. He stopped, saw all the liquor we had and asked did we need some smoke. Dude literally stayed in the parking lot with us all night and kicked it with us like we were his best friends. Will never forget it. Great guy. I must correct the rim shop guy from Detroit. Atlanta did have a rap scene prior to Outkast. We had Shy D, Kilo, Raheem, Success N Effect, Hard Boys, Sammy Sam.....He would not know that because he ain't from here, but bass music was also very prevalent.

The south, in general, had a whole indie thing going long before any of it. Bass music was for the south. I'm sure they weren't thinking about ANYboduy else during that era.
