Institute of Public Affairs' Daniel Wild says Meta's apology over censoring Trump's image was "because they got caught out".
Facebook admitted it incorrectly censored the iconic image of former US president Donald Trump pumping his fist immediately after the July 13 assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.
"They're not apologising because they got it wrong, they're apologising because they got caught out," Mr Wild told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
"This is the concern with misinformation laws as well.
"We know the way they would be policed … is through these fact-checking organisations, which as you say are blatantly political and compromised and cannot be trusted."
