This project has been a dream of mine for 12 years (and an ambition for 8 years), now made possible thanks to RUclips's Creators for Change Program. For more info go to ruclips.net/user/ytcreators-f...

RUclips have helped fund the first 4 episodes of 'The Quest for Global Empathy', and so any money raised via Patreon will go directly to Myles so he can continue building the show beyond as a grass-roots funded effort.

Rou..please never stop creating music..we need it so much
I could and probably will listen to Rou talk all day. He'd be my dream interview if I was to do music interviews.
Half way thru and it’s turning into rou asking Myles the questions and Myles talking 😂
Haha! That's the beauty of the format... they aren't interviews, but conversations. No script or pre-planned questions... just "How's it going?" and then see where the train of dual-thought takes us :)
Well, what a conversation! In the middle of the video I didn't want it to end and I could listen to you guys for hours and hours, it was so interesting.
I love how Rou doesn't simply stays on the surface of his ideas. I'd love to have a conversation with that man. He deeply understands what he's talking about and has that ability to step back on things... Too few people do that and it sometimes leads to conflicts, unfortunately.
Thank you very much for the kind comment & feedback. Really glad you liked the show. Will no doubt have to get Rou back on again one day :)
I hope so :) You're very welcome!
I Cant wait for this show !
Loving this!
Thanks Adam
well, this was unexpected lmao love your and Miles's content
Yes Myles my guy. Thanks again for wisiting my school!👌
That "Unity is intrinsic, the only cause worth fighting for" line is from Fanfare for the Conscious Man :)
Give that human a cookie!!!!
It occurred to me when trans rights were mentioned that I am one of those people who lives in a bit of a bubble and forgets that people aren't always exposed to the same information as me. Here's this in case it's useful to anyone:
A transgender person is someone who does not identify as the gender they were assigned at birth. The way I had this explained to me when I first heard the word "cisgender" was that a cisgender person is someone who the doctors when they're born go "hey, you're a girl/boy" and they go "yup, sounds about right". Trans is everything else. This can range from someone who was assigned female at birth but identifies as a boy or vice versa, to less binary examples. Personally, I'm non-binary, which means that I was assigned a gender at birth (female in my case) and I'm like "nope I'm not that", but if someone were to say I was male I still wouldn't be like "yup there you go."
There's a lot more specifics still being discussed, eg whether you can be trans without dysphoria (I think yes currently) or whether you can identify with a gender that's something else entirely, like an animal (that's called being xenogender and I also think yes). But yeah, that's pretty much the basics. Hope that's helpful to someone :)
EDIT: fuck, i did it again with the whole assuming knowledge thing. dysphoria is a feeling of discomfort/dissociation between your identity and how you or others perceive you. (loved the show by the way!)
Great conversation guys. I appreciate the honest exchange about that which many can resonate with. Music and art have a real unifying potential and it’s great to see how bravely you guys go the extra distance to actively care about the world, despite mental illness and all the stressors of this system. I was entertained, informed and inspired. 😉
So glad you’re getting this opportunity from a person from Reading
Represent! :)
Wow really great show miles I absolutely love it I've been following you a long time and enter shikari as well. Learned about you both around 2010 while I was studying the Venus Project in the zeitgeist.
