    Watching in 2024, thinkin’ “2016, wow!”
    When Pastor Voddie mentioned the way this ideology gets your children at ~31:00, I got emotional. Eight years ago, I was 18. And just beginning to be swept up by these awful demonic lib/progressive ideologies. I was raised by strict, conservative Christian parents, daughter of Nigerian pastor here in London. I went off to university and was exposed to the worst, and I backslid. Now I am passionate about Christ, born again, and dedicating my life to Him 🤧🤍✝️🙏

    Frankly i dont understand the term "Homophobe". I dont know why the word "phobe" i.e. Phobia is attached to it....among all the people labelled "Homophobe" i dont know a single one who would run the opposite direction in fear at the sight of a gay couple.
    There is a very obvious difference between being Afraid of something and Not Approving of it.

      yeah i 100% agree. trans-phobic, Homophobic, etc. they say its a phobia illogically. Their purpose of using "phobia" as the conclusion of us not approving, is a tactics to make us seem weak. This is similar to people who call themselves "pro-choice"... Its really "pro-murder that baby bc i don't want the responsibilities" but they use "pro-choice" to make it seem more humane. Just like "phobia" is literally an "unnatural fear of something"... So That's their way of saying that we are the weird ones for disapproving.

      Voddie is a beast, but he's wrong: you cannot 'prove' a person is 'black.' First of all, NO ONE is 'black.' Melanin comes in one color: brown. Second, although people may be less likely to contend with you on the matter, how do you establish an objective standard to apply to others? And don't use the 'one drop' rule, or you are really in a ditch.

    Here brother Voddie goes (as he typically does) from an OUTSTANDING presentation of the Gospel, salvation by grace apart from works of the Law, to a confusion--his pet confusion, the LGBTQ gate-keeping issue, around 28:00.
    He starts making claims like "One plus one equals two."
    Now whenever a preacher resorts to this kind of logic, he's
    Desperate.

    • @DarioHawkeye
      @DarioHawkeye 3 года назад +8

      Did you even understand what he was talking about when he was saying "one plus one equals two"? Because your comment about him being desperate really makes no sense.

    • @duncescotus2342
      @duncescotus2342 3 года назад

      @@DarioHawkeye Well, nonsense is still good satire, a la Alice.
      Voddie B is the black calling the kettle "pot."
      Does that make sense?
      But...let me be crystal clear, his real "fault-lines" are simply the cracks WITHIN the Southern Baptist tradition--
      The SBC comes from the Pre-Civil War split within the Baptists over the slavery issue, with the Southerners of course going pro-slavery, and the Northern Baptist going toward Abolition. That's where we get the SBC. Simple historical fact.
      But even before that, and still continuing today, there has been an internal tension in Baptist theology in two big areas:
      1. Calvinism-Arminianism, and the mechanics of the New Birth, HOW people are actually saved
      2. "Cessation" or "continuation" of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Many former Baptists provided the membership of the Pentecostal movement. Most rejected it.
      Ok, so brother Voddie B. is theologically a Calvinistic-Cessationist.
      His worldview is corrupted by these errors of dogmatics, in my opinion.
      Everything erroneous in his appraisal of BLM-CRT and any cultural analysis comes from these main theological blunders.
      If you aren't faithful in the big things, how can you faithful in the small? (I hope my irony here isn't lost on anyone.)
      That's my take on it. Don't listen to MacArthur and Baucham. They're just neo-Puritan crusty bread.

    Isaiah 8:13,16,20 ASV
    Jehovah of hosts,
    him shall ye sanctify; and
    let him be your fear, and
    let him be your dread.
    [16] Bind thou up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
    [20] To the law and to the testimony!
    if they speak not according to this word,
    surely there is no morning for them.
    2 Kings 17:13 ASV
    Yet JEHOVAH TESTIFIED unto Israel, and unto Judah, by every prophet, and every seer, saying,
    Turn ye from your evil ways, and
    keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
    Zechariah 7:12 ASV
    Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which Jehovah of hosts had sent by his Spirit by the former prophets: therefore there came great wrath from Jehovah of hosts.
    Nehemiah 9:30 ASV
    Yet many years didst thou bear with them, and testifiedst against them by thy Spirit through thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.
    Psalm 19:7 ASV
    The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul:

    Psalm 25:10 ASV
    All the paths of Jehovah are lovingkindness and truth Unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
    Psalm 99:6-7,9 ASV
    Moses and Aaron among his priests, And Samuel among them that call upon his name; They called upon Jehovah, and he answered them. [7] He spake unto them in the pillar of cloud: They kept his testimonies, And the statute that he gave them. [9] Exalt ye Jehovah our God, And worship at his holy hill; For Jehovah our God is holy.
    Psalm 119:1-3,14,22,24,31,36,45-46,59,79,95,99,111,119,125,129,138,144,146,151-152,157,167-168 ASV
    Blessed are they that are perfect in the way, Who walk in the law of Jehovah.
    [2] Blessed are they that keep his testimonies,
    That seek him with the whole heart.
    [3] Yea, they do no unrighteousness; They walk in his ways.
    [14] I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, As much as in all riches.
    [22] Take away from me reproach and contempt; For I have kept thy testimonies.
    [24] Thy testimonies also are my delight Andmy counsellors.
    [31] I cleave unto thy testimonies: O Jehovah, put me not to shame. [36] Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, And not to covetousness.
    [45] And I shall walk at liberty; For I have sought thy precepts.
    [46] I will also speak of thy testimonies before kings, And shall not be put to shame.
    [59] I thought on my ways, And turned my feet unto thy testimonies.
    [79] Let those that fear thee turn unto me; And they shall know thy testimonies.
    [88] Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; So shall I observe the testimony of thy mouth.
    [95] The wicked have waited for me, to destroy me; But I will consider thy testimonies.
    [99] I have more understanding than all my teachers; For thy testimonies are my meditation,
    [111] Thy testimonies have I taken as a heritage for ever; For they are the rejoicing of my heart.
    [119] Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: Therefore I love thy testimonies.
    [125] I am thy servant; give me understanding, That I may know thy testimonies.
    [129] Thy testimonies are wonderful; Therefore doth my soul keep them.
    [138] Thou hast commanded thy testimonies in righteousness And very faithfulness.
    [144] Thy testimonies are righteous for ever: Give me understanding, and I shall live.
    [146] I have called unto thee; save me, And I shall observe thy testimonies.
    [151] Thou art nigh, O Jehovah; And all thy commandments are truth. [152] Of old have I known from thy testimonies, That thou hast founded them for ever. [157] Many are my persecutors and mine adversaries; Yet have I not swerved from thy testimonies. [167] My soul hath observed thy testimonies; And I love them exceedingly. [168] I have observed thy precepts and thy testimonies; For all my ways are before thee.
    Deuteronomy 6:4,6,13,16-18,24-25 ASV
    Hear, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah: [6] And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart; [13] Thou shalt fear Jehovah thy God; and him shalt thou serve, and shalt swear by his name. [16] Ye shall not tempt Jehovah your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. [17] Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of Jehovah your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee. [18] And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of Jehovah; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, [24] And Jehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Jehovah our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as at this day. [25] And it shall be righteousness unto us, if we observe to do all this commandment before Jehovah our God, as he hath commanded us.
    2 Chronicles 23:11 ASV
    Then they brought out the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony, and made him king: and Jehoiada and his sons anointed him; and they said, Long live the king.
    Psalm 132:11-12 ASV
    Jehovah hath sworn unto David in truth; He will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. [12] If thy children will keep my covenant And my testimony that I shall teach them, Their children also shall sit upon thy throne for evermore.
    1 Kings 2:1-3 ASV
    Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying, [2] I am going the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and show thyself a man; [3] and keep the charge of Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself;
    2 Kings 23:3 AMP
    The king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD and to keep His commandments, His testimonies, and His statutes with all his heart and soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people entered into the covenant.
    2 Chronicles 34:31-32 AMP
    Then the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the LORD-to walk after (obey) the LORD, and to keep His commandments, His testimonies, and His statutes with all his heart and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant written in this book. [32] Further, he made all who were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin stand [with him, in confirmation of it]. So the inhabitants of Jerusalem acted in accordance with the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.

    God gave us all free will for a reason. All Christians agree that God should be obeyed above all things and this His ways are for our ultimate good, and so, obedience is for our ultimate good. But He also gave people the right to reject Him and His laws. Our government has rejected Him. As tragic and frightening as that is, we CANNOT force our government (or anyone else for that matter) to conform to our laws and beliefs as followers of Christ. We agree with God and follow God. Others don't. I'm sure Voddie has only good intentions with this sermon, but he has no right to insist that our democracy should be turned into a theocracy against the will of American citizens who are not in the faith.

    • @michaelmcevoy9278
      @michaelmcevoy9278 2 года назад

      1. What laws does the government have the right to make?
      2. If Romans 13 teaches us the government is God’s ministers, what laws OUGHT the government make? In other words, what is God’s standard of behavior for a government? Or what does God require of governments?
      3. Is it right for us to expect from a government what God expects from the governments he has instituted?
      These aren’t “gotcha” questions. These are hard questions I am wrestling with myself. I don’t have easy answers to these questions, but I think your response here is probably not consistent with your response on other moral topics, such as abortion or murder. (Yes, that’s an assumption. If I’m wrong, I am not intending to misrepresent you.)

    • @SojournerNX
      @SojournerNX Год назад +1

      God has never given any person the "right to reject Him". He gave us free will as a 'choice'. A 'right' gives us complete freedom in the face of all illegal opposition. Rejection of Jesus comes at an ultimate consequence and the one who rejects Him will not go free. Additionally, obedience is not for "our ultimate good", obedience to God is 'commanded' whether it's good for us or not.

    Now, the one thing I don't quite grasp in identifying this abomination as a permanent moral law, and not merely ceremonial like mixing fabrics, is that ALL the world views the universal moral crime of murder as subject to capital punishment (even if not enforced), but, other than Muslim culture, NO ONE argues that the universal moral crime of homosexuality should be punished with the universal moral penalty of death. NO ONE. Not even Baptists. Why? The same goes for adultery. It is not civil. It is clearly not ceremonial. The same moral commandment against it in Scripture also prescribes the penalty: death. No one in Christendom is such a penalty even suggested. Why not? Unless ALL the law was nailed to cross with Christ? Or did only the ceremonial laws point to Christ?

    People do not point out your hypocrisy of picking and choosing because they feel that they are morally Superior to you, they point out your hypocrisy of picking and choosing because it's clear that you are not following God while you claim to. The least you can do is pull that plank out of your eye before you try to address your brother's splinter in his.
    The reason you pick and choose is because you are following the traditions of your church instead of the word of God.
    By picking and choosing the laws that you think are moral and not you are making yourself the standard for Morality as opposed to God.
    You're wrong to divide the laws up into moral civil and ceremonial. All of God's laws are moral because He is a standard for Morality and the dividing of God's laws into ceremonial moral and civil are not from the Bible that is a tradition of church.
