I hit a telephone pole at triple digits, broke the pole, in a coma instantly had a machine breathin for me, lost my right leg AK and got my helmet ripped off my head, on an 03 tl1000r.. freakin loved that bike. Still do, over ANY bike
I have one as well and yes it is often mistaken for several different bikes but I can say there are a lot of people that know what this is. I love mine and I'm glad to see them on here
I bought a ‘99 TL1000R brand new in 1999. Mine was the white/blue color scheme. I changed the gearing (down 1 in front, up 2 in back) and love it like that. I also had full M4 titanium exhaust. It was stolen from my apartment parking lot in 2003. When I got it back, the thieves had messed up my pristine bike, so I bought racing fairings and turned it into my track toy. Heavy bike to throw around the track but lots of fun nonetheless. It served me great on the track until the front fuel injector stuck open and the engine died coming out of a chicane. I had to push back to the pit where I found the front throttle body, cylinder and exhaust pipe full of fuel. I never got around to fixing it and sold it to a coworker. I have no idea if that bike exists anymore but I sure loved it!
You realize really quick that it's just way easier to say "yeah, it's a GSXR" rather than explain it a million times to people who won't remember after they walk away anyways. Lol. I had one a few years back in the day and it was a great bike. Don't see them around much anymore.
They’re nice Bruh!!...been rolling mine since bought in 1999..(‘98 model tho’..note the thumb nail pic next to this comment!) Tune’em good and maintain the electrical wiring/system,..use great synthetic oil,..get fine sport tires and run it with a Power Commander and the bike will treat ya to kick ass performance!! 🏍✨My TLR is 21yrs old and still bringin’ it & terrorizing Tokyo!!..Yeah,..I 🇺🇸live in Japan!🇯🇵 (FYI,..☝🏾Suzuki says are days are numbered on future parts obtainment!! & support fellow owners!!..🤔😒)
Hey, so I have a question. My dad is willing to sell me his Suzuki TL1000R for cheap. It's been sitting in the garage for about 7 years so it needs a serious tune up. I'm a new rider but I'll learn on on bike with this much power if I need to. That being said, I love the Kawasaki Ninja 650. Like romantic love. It's considerably more than what I can get the TL1000R. As a beginner who learns quick when it comes to anything with wheels, should I get my love the TL1000R or the Kawasaki Ninja 650?
My personal opinion for a new rider the TL is definitely not a bike to start on. Yes you can learn on it i i would highly recommend not using this as your first bike. Also its a 20 year old bike that has been sitting and its going to need a lot of work to get it running right you dont want those problems as a beginning rider. Personally i think that starting on a 300 or 400 would be the best but the 600 you want would still be better then the TL as a beginner bike. Dont far into that bs of you will grow into the bike! Learn how to ride for a few years then go to the 1000cc. Good luck with your decision and ride within your skill.
Thats not the stock rear fairing is it. Didnt think it would have the black scallop on it. Mine was originally all yellow but got switched to the gsxr style fairings but you can tell because thd tank doesn't have the scallop on it.
Those are bolt ons and they are not a full system. Get a real full system and you will love them. They flow so much better. Be careful of the gas pump seal leaking under the tank and get an aftermarket suspension for that rotary damper and you will feel like you have a new bike.
Lmao!! They both have the same engine. The R has a little better internals and a little bit more HP but not much but also heavier. The S is lighter making it more flickable for lack of a better word lol. Both are great bikes!! Don't get me wrong but the R will always look better imo.

WOW!
You lived...... great.
Blimey 👀. I better slow down. Hope all is good now.

I'm seriously looking into one for my next bike. That v twin sound will take some getting use to, then again I live the Honda RC 51.
Legit I’m buying one next year or the rc 51 …. Yours is a beaut
I have the white blue and red strip fairings. Looks like a gxsr
Very nice! I just got a 2000 tl project bike that I’m trying to start. What was that clutch switch you hit before you started the bike? Thanks 🙏
What exactly is a "full slip on?" Lol.

Completely agree, TL1R will be a horrible bike to be a beginner on
I've started on this bike, it was my starter bike. First bike I've ever owned.
Do it man. Just remember you're a newb. I bought a brand new Busa in 2000 for my first bike. I've still got it today.
Love it! 1st dream bike

The chassis is based on that era's GSXR 750, so yeah it fooled me at first as well.
Love this bike, I have the same one.
Did you just say “full yosimura slip ons”? Lol.
Those are bolt ons and they are not a full system. Get a real full system and you will love them. They flow so much better. Be careful of the gas pump seal leaking under the tank and get an aftermarket suspension for that rotary damper and you will feel like you have a new bike.
We call em Nut cookers lol
It is the "Testicles Lightly Roasted 1000R" lol i have one
For real. For get about shorts the frame will have you thinghs lookin like a christmas ham by the end ofvthe day.
Is this the same engine in the new v strom 1000?
No this engine has about 20-30 more HP.
The vstorm is closer to the TL1000S
Awesome Bike. Is it Fuel Injection?
Yes they are multi port fuel injection.
damn that is a sweet growl your bike has.. new channel huh? Allow me to be your first subscriber!
Thank you,Sir!!! Greatly appreciated. Yeah man a fresh start was the way to go.
I have the same bike same color it burns my thys if I wear shorts on it
the strange thing about the Tl 1000 is that the S model is faster then the R model...

@@jliter8068 shure the R looks gorgeous and sounds amazing but the lack of power..
The s does it for me. Your r is so nice
Mirror angles? 🤢
Lol i still have the original mirrors. I just need a wider field of view. I couldn't see around my left shoulder with the oem's
@@jliter8068 no one can
Lol u sound like Johnny Bravo on ur low tones
hated traffic, dumb location of battery!!
Kinda sounds like my m109r
Calling that a super bike is a joke in itself
