Mary Sanchez you’re correct. Changru is not a one dimensional villain. She has a reason why she is the way she is. She always bullied and overshadowed by Changle and when she was a little girl given terrible advice by Touba Yu. She took this the extreme when she turned against Weiyoung, the only person who cared about her (even got stabbed protecting her while Chiyun Rou was cutting off her hair). It was the lucky charm Weiyoung platonically gave to Touba Yu which broke the camels back and turned Changru against her. It was extremely sad because I loved their initial relationship.

Oh yes. I think their story was so tragic. They were two sides of the same coin and in Chang Ru, Touba Yu had someone who loved him truly and for a very long time but his ambition and resentment wouldn't allow him to recognize it. The fact that Chang Ru looked like such an angel on earth added to the pity of the whole situation. If only Touba Yu had appreciated Chang Ru's constant love, they could have been a blessed couple. It is such a waste that she let her jealousy destroy a loving and unselfish relationship with Weiyoung. Chang Ru threw away true love and loyalty with both hands as did Touba Yu. They were a tragic, foolishly blind and beautiful pair.
They could've been.. I kind of liked their chemistry until Chang Ru did a heavy turn to the evil side qwq But in the end.. I like the fact that Touba Yu apologized to her at the verge of death and telling her how he disappointed her.. that made me believe, that there surely were feelings he had for her, they just weren't strong enough to overcome his obsession with power. I believe he only realized what he had in front of him, when he was actually dying. And I am so mad they never showed what happened to their son, bruh xD
I was upset to about the son. It would be nice if they had a Princess a Weiyoung 2 with both sons from born princes and bring back some of the original cast of actors and actresses they were all so awesome 👏!

She really was my favorite character, I also really liked her with Touba Yu. I was kinda hoping that towards the end of the series he would end up losing but his punishment would be exile where he lives with her and their child while Wei young and Touba Jun became the rulers.
She did a really good job playing the hidden villain. At the beginning you really do think she regrets (more than she admits) getting Weiyoung caught up in her schemes. Her character really is someone you like to hate, but yet feel a little for. I have not finished the series (5 more episodes), so I don't know how much lower her character goes.

Instead of cowherder and weaver girl, the subtitles in the series had "Altair is far away" and "Vega is very bright" - a reference to the star crossed lovers separated by the Milky Way. This is such a gorgeous song, and she's so pretty. While I didn't want my suspicions she would turn bad to come true, she definitely elevates the series.
