Translucent powder is just white in the tub it has no colour and goes on the skin with 0 pigment. 'Invisible powder is a marketing ploy. They both have 0 colour. Translucent means see through.
Translucent is only called translucent because it’s not completely invisible, there’s usually other shades and colors that shine through. For example? Yellow, pink, and brown translucent powders will all give a different tint to the skin. I’m willing to bet the “invisible” title is just a gimmick/marketing tool because no one powder is COMPLETELY invisible, regardless of how fine it’s milled.
Actually i think it's called invisible because it doesn't leave any colour tint like the translucent one does but honestly i don't think either one does much of a difference as far as the look of your makeup goes
@@blakepaulineswingler6620 Yes, that’s the idea, but all powders will leave a tint, even if it’s negligible. I’m on the darker end of the spectrum and no white powder is truly invisible on my skin.
Yeah thats what I thought when I got the lightest shade of Manhattan's compact poweder for the first time wondering why it had the color-code zero and wasn't white while their loose poweder in color zero was white but now I know the difference
Thank you! I've been scrolling the comments to see if anyone else noticed or was going to say anything!! Also she had alittle on the sides of her nose towards the end!
Invisible, translucent and setting are the same products with different names to make you buy them because they’re trying to market the same thing differently. Slushy, slurpy and icee are all frozen drinks. They all do the same thing. 😂❤
I get what you're saying about the powders. But your analogy of slushy, slurpee, icee as all being frozen drinks is an apples to oranges situation. All three may be frozen drinks, but they're all made with different kinds of ice, and they all have different preparation methods. Obviously ice doesn't taste any different but the mouth feel is an obvious difference. The powders are all the same, most likely made the same, the only thing that changes about the powders is what they're telling you to use them for. And you're absolutely correct, it's only to get you to spend more money. Also, I'm not trying to be rude. It's a compulsion.
@@nicolesymonds2349 just like different brands have different names for similar things. the powder products she used were not the same but similar enough to casually say they’re the same
There is a tiny tiny bit of a difference. The translucent one you used has a nice warm undertone to it, so in the footage that side of your face looks a little warmer, where the side of your face that you use the invisible powder looks much more neutral.
definitely the same, mac probs just named it “invisible” to make it seem like it’s different/better but invisible and transparent basically mean the same thing
i feel like the MAC Invisible powder left a bit of a lavender tint, where the translucent seemed to be truly translucent on your skin tone. However, i think they both look amazing! Just think the translucent really melted perfectly on your skin.
It's looks like maybe the invisible one is maybe a thinner powder that is more airy where as with translucent they have undertones some times and are more dense maybe?
Flower powder is much heavier and has more color then the Mac. Flower side looks brighter because of the light coverage and shade. They are not the same.
Thanks for sharing! Would please take a picture with the flash on and see the difference. I have found on our skin, with other brands, I get a flash back or white residue in pictures where I placed the translucent power. I’m not sure about the invisible powder.
Translucent powder is designed to have some colour to it. Good translucent powders can be used on most skintones. Most translucent powders however don't work too well on deeper, olive or very pale skintones due to the colour used. Invisible powder is supposed to be, as it states, invisible. Some of them will have a white cast if over applied but as a general rule they should work for everyone as they don't have any pigment.
I think the Translucent powder have whitening effect and give more warmth to your face but invisible powder just set under your eyes both are very smooth though
I feel like the invisable has a more white finish where as the translucant lets you keep a better hue to your skin. If you look back in the bideo you can see when you move your face the invisible is slightly more pale / ashy
Honestly wasn't sure if it would work for you or not, I had heard that back in the 20s translucent was the only shade but I was under the impression that it left a white cast so I guess I was wrong? Good to know!! Thank you!!
translucent powder is used to be placed under eye concealer to keep it from settling into fine lines and wrinkles so your concealer last longer, when you get older your skin changes concealer can be your worst enemy if applied incorrectly.
I find the meaning depends on the brand. The translucent I like and buy sets with no noticeable colour change, but once they didn’t have it in stock so I bought translucent from another brand that I use different products from and it was pigmented!! I was shocked. It was in a solid container so I didn’t know until I opened it. They still called it “translucent” though😕
The translucent side shows more of your natural tone and gives you a "radiance from within" look. Definitely makes you look more awake and bright. The invisible side looks dull and flushed out (lol boring!)
I used translucent powder one, and my normally fair skin was even more fair. I was asked if I was sick, so it's a no for me. It looks great on you, though
I feel like the translucent powder has a nice warm undertone and looks smoother with a natural shadow
Exactly the way I saw it the side with the invisible powder looked kinda greyish
You're right. The Mac powder looks cooler toned on the other hand.
Translucent powder is just white in the tub it has no colour and goes on the skin with 0 pigment. 'Invisible powder is a marketing ploy. They both have 0 colour. Translucent means see through.
Invisible gives more matte effect and translucent gives more of a shiner effect.

This!
Term-wise yes, translucent is different than invisible but this is clearly marketing, I agree

Aaaayyyeeee. RUclips recommended my own video to meeee
😂😂😂
Congrats ig😂
😂❤
😅
❤😂😂
the white powder at the sides of her lips is just sending me
I was wondering if she tried to eat it. 😂
Thank you! I've been scrolling the comments to see if anyone else noticed or was going to say anything!! Also she had alittle on the sides of her nose towards the end!
It’s most likely to prevent creases or oil around that area. People set different areas depending on what they want for the look.

I think you're right.
Same product different finishes and other ingredients/pigments added
I mean translucent means “see through” so I’m not surprised it looks the same as the “invisible” powder 😂😂
Translucent is only partially see through, like a lightly foggy window. Transparent is completely see through! 😁
i think the translucent powder side looks just a liiiitle bit better, even tho i was like DAMN that mac side looks good! lol.
This green on her lids! Stunning!
Your green eyeshadow is AMAZING!!!
Looks like you were eating donuts LOL
That green eye shadow is to die for! ❤
Some powders flash back in cameras. That may be the reason for the name difference specification in the formulation of the powdefs
okay but i am lowkey in love with your eyeshadow rn it's so pretty!!😭🔥🪴
There is a tiny tiny bit of a difference. The translucent one you used has a nice warm undertone to it, so in the footage that side of your face looks a little warmer, where the side of your face that you use the invisible powder looks much more neutral.
Hmmm I see. Let me go check
This was very informative but who let you go on with the powder on the corners of your lips like that lmao
Your eye makeup is gorgeous!
I love your green eyeshadow. Looks gorgeous!
I’m so glad someone well versed in makeup couldn’t tell the difference too, I thought it was my untrained eye.
I personally think that the translucent is much smoother on the skin
Love the green eyeshadow! Looks great on you!
Girl I just gotta say, you are STUNNING have a great day queen ❤👑
please please please add Gracie Abrams to that artist list!! she’s so underrated but she wrote great songs and definitely a taylor’s kid
I've always wondered if it works on much darker skin so thanks for answering that question 😁
definitely the same, mac probs just named it “invisible” to make it seem like it’s different/better but invisible and transparent basically mean the same thing
She's so graceful!
What are the names of the green eyeshadows????? They are beautiful!
Your straightforward honesty is cute!
That green is spectacular on you! 👌❤️
I think so too!
I'm a light brown skin person but for God's sake I can't even get the eyeshadow colours to pop so much like yours on my eyes. You are really beautiful
White/light eye bases help a ton!
The eye makeup is fire!!!
The way her skin looks so flawlesss!!
I do think there is a *slight* difference and prefer the Mac of you!! The translucent one has just a touch of white showing.
That green shadow on your dark skin tone is so so so beautiful.
i feel like the MAC Invisible powder left a bit of a lavender tint, where the translucent seemed to be truly translucent on your skin tone. However, i think they both look amazing! Just think the translucent really melted perfectly on your skin.
Try the flash back between both of them. That's a life and death difference, man.
I love the green!!! So pretty
I know it's not the focus of the video but that green eyeshadow is so pretty!
That green shadow Sis!!! : )
Love the eyeshadow, the powders look amazing!🤗👍
I like to use the flour Beauty Bakerie powder. They formulate their powders with rice so they are blurring af!
That eyeshadow is FIRE 🔥 Incendiary.
Your eyes look stunning 💚💚
I use a power foundation in the same or a slightly lighter shade than my regular makeup
Your eye makeup is amazing. I like that you didn't make it over the top.
That green eye look is just amazing and perfect on you ❤
The green eyeshadow....omg . Its beautiful on your eyes....
Your eyes are beyond stunning!
I think they only have different names because that's how the brand decided to call them, not because it's a different type of product
I think the difference is the name! Besides that, you are flawless!💖💖💖
It would be nice if you took flash photos to see if either has flashback
for some reason i always just assumed “translucent” would still have a white/flour like cast. but i actually want to try these!
Me tooooo. Especially because it’s white. I’m so glad I took the leap and tried it
Rainbow is my favorite color and MAN are you gorgeous in that top!! It goes soooo well with your skintone, it's out of this world.
Your eye makeup is just wow❤ you look beautiful
omg your eyeshadow looks so good
Hi Ohemaa, could you please make a white eyeliner video?
Ok how elaborate are we wanting this liner
Like both on the eyelids and inner inferior line(I don't know how to say it well😆).
Translucent looks so much more natural... it's blended nicely and it looks smooth.. the invisible kinda looks rough and a bit too light..
the Maybelline translucent fitme is like the exact same color as my skin was when i didn't go outside without hoodies for like 2 years
It's looks like maybe the invisible one is maybe a thinner powder that is more airy where as with translucent they have undertones some times and are more dense maybe?
I LOVE Beauty Bakerie Powder!! 😍🥰
Translucent powder, less white cast and a more blurred look.
The eye makeup base🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 just beautiful and you are looking amazing😍🤩
Eyes looks so gorgeous
Thank you for the information.❤
Love the eyeshadow.
This may sound super odd but I LOVE your voice, its so relaxing
Green shadow looks Fabulous!

I agree, they both look the same. Both look good on you.

Girl, u look stunning with everything !
Thank you so much!!
the translucent one definitely wasnt as obvious! you always just look lovely though 😊
Both are beautiful on you ! ❤❤😊
The eyeshadow is everything

Beauty Bakerie looks better on you. But you won’t truly know until you do a flash test. 📸
Love the eye shadow
invisible powder is used to be placed on top of foundation to pro long the coverage.
I think the Translucent powder have whitening effect and give more warmth to your face but invisible powder just set under your eyes both are very smooth though
Hi I'm new here! Did u also put the powder in the corners of your lips?? It wasn't mentioned at all in this clip and it appears out of nowhere haha
I use a translucent powder to help lighten my foundation cause I can't find one pail enught for me
RCMA no color powder, chef's kiss!
I feel like the invisable has a more white finish where as the translucant lets you keep a better hue to your skin. If you look back in the bideo you can see when you move your face the invisible is slightly more pale / ashy
Thank you for making this video. I have super oily brows. Adding powder helps a little. What else can help?
Thank you so much for making this video! So helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Honestly wasn't sure if it would work for you or not, I had heard that back in the 20s translucent was the only shade but I was under the impression that it left a white cast so I guess I was wrong? Good to know!! Thank you!!
I use Haus Labs translucent setting powder and love it, but you just sold me on the MAC Invisible.
It’s definitely w nice powder
Do you use this as a setting powder?
translucent powder is used to be placed under eye concealer to keep it from settling into fine lines and wrinkles so your concealer last longer, when you get older your skin changes concealer can be your worst enemy if applied incorrectly.
will having different shades for powder be a good idea ?
Try a flashback test and see if there’s a difference
Hello, you and your makeup are beautiful
Manufacturers and websites use then almost interchangeably, when you try and filter online they always give you both
Girl that eyeshadow is 😍
Thanks so much
So should we be using invisible powders to set? Because I feel like they change the entire look but also smudge onto everything without it. 😫🥺
I like the Translucent powder more it looked better the the other.
I find the meaning depends on the brand. Ur eyes 👁️ make up is amazing ❤

What’s on the corner of your mouth? Is that the powders?
