The question many people ask, “why can’t couples stay together?” is, I think, asking the wrong question. The real question should be, “how do so many couples manage to stay together?” Marriage is hard with a lot of forces working against it.
I Can't Make You Love Me ...Bonnie....her music has always been dear to me and of course her collaborations with such great song writers..Sometimes I feel she's singing just for me. Not in an egotistical or selfish way. I don't know....At times..I think that I enjoy being a "captured audience"....I love her music...I love her caracter 😢😊

Conflicting schedules? Bonnie was at a point where she could have had any schedule she wanted, so clearly touring was what she wanted. This wasn't tragic fate, this was adults making choices. Which is fine! She may be much better at music than at relationships. Given us all so much pleasure over so many years.
It’s more acceptable for female entertainers to marry and have children but they still pay the price, don’t they? If the husband leaves his career to support her, he resents it and she loses respect for him. If he insists on being an equal partner financially and having his own career they never see each other and they grow apart. It’s sad because I think they both tried to make the marriage work
Bonnie was born in 1949. Her husband was born in 1955. I know two long term happy couples with a larger age gap than their mere six years. But yes, she has lived a hard party girl life, slept with everyone and it shows. I’ve been in backstage situations where she was also present (first time in 1976) and what I’ve observed is she needs the attention of the men around her. Reacts badly if those men are interacting with women (me). I have never seen her smile, only the death stare directed at me more than once. That being said, I respect her talent.
