That's a neat device; I like the versatility! I have a Blutooth receiver for my stereo system but it's nice that it not only supports Wifi and Bluetooth (devices that do that are common, I think -- my Wifi Extender can do that) but also audio inputs and a USB port. Thanks for the review!
Is the line output fixed or variable? Connect the line out to a amplifier and control the volume with your phone, tablet or whatever would be great
You can control the output with your phone.
24 bit flac support, Nice!. That I2s output will come in handy for adding spdif and experimenting with various dacs.
Yes it is a nice board. WIll be going into a plastic box and into my media closet at some point. Even the internet DAC sounds great.
...... Well done Mate, these devices have advanced so much. Ideal for updating older equipment.
P.S. My 4stream was removed when I was a baby !
Could this be an easy solution to play a vinyl record multiroom? If up2stream is able to stream audio from line in, one could connect this input to line out of the amplifier or seperate phono preamp and listen to the music in other rooms via additional up2stream units simultaneously? Is there a way to set up audio delays to sync different amplifiers using multiroom scenario?
Check out the manufactures site for a unit with an amp - not sure... is that all you would need? www.arylic.com/products/up2stream-miniv2-receiver-board
12voltvids how are you using this board in your home setup without the phone? I don't suppose you or anyone else with this board has used it with Linux again without a phone?
You need the phone to set it up. Once it is up and running it can be set to play from PC connected to network and once playing the phone is no longer needed. The ap can be shut down. Naturally if you want to modify the okay list or select a song directly you need your controling device which could be a phone or tablet to operate it. I'll be using my tablet as a controller likely once I set it up.
As to Linux, you are on your own. Only coders use Linux and if you know how to code in Linux you can figure this one out on your own. The rest of us just want to plug it in and turn it on. I used to like to tinker with code when I was younger. Then I wised up and let someone else do that.
I have just the WiFi model and it's excellent.
Volumio on a Raspberry Pi is a good and open source alternative. I get ultra hifi perfomance with a HiFiBerry dac.
nice bit of lennon there love it
Your videos are amazing! Can't wait to see what you're putting out next.
12voltvids You can always format the bigger 128GB USB Sticks to FAT32 if needed.
I am fully aware of this and my 128g stick is formatted as fat32 as I used it in my car.
@@12voltvids It will work
Very good product!
you probably dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my girlfriend these days =)
@Coleman Hugh yea, been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself :D
@Coleman Hugh definitely, have been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself :D
That's a big powerbrick just for that sucker!
The power brick is not for this one. It is for the other one that will be reviewed next. This one runs off a 5 volt usb power supply, a cell phone charger. The other board has a 30wpc amp built in.
can it play music from youtube?
Striker If you can connect to airplay then it will connect.
hiii.. I am going to order one for me. For now can you share the boards front panel dimension(lan port, usb, audio out and aux in dimension and gap between them) so that i can design my cabinet to fit this till my board reaches my location. I am from India and i have to buy this from other countrie's warehouse. It will take more thn 1 month to reach.

alexa voice compatible?..
Couldn't tell ya. Refuse to allow any listening device into my home.
gotcha (disabling any listening abilities is not enable by default but pausible incase you might reconsider)..
19:53 had me laughing so loud. This seems like a very cool thing to have. I like BT and dislike it. Play some music over it, get a whatsapp or whatever and everyone hears it. Only if someone would make a nice suitable housing for it then it would be perfect to take along or place it somewhere safely.
This is designed to be added to anbecuteibf system. The next one will be put into some speakers as it has an internal amplifier.
@@12voltvids any idea or can you measure how much current it draws? Would be cool to be able to power it from 18650 cells or a pack and make it really portable.
LOL, yup he is pretty loud. Very vocal, you would think he was the siamese, but no, this is a tabby that thinks he is a siamese cat by how he acts, and talks.
Excellent, software appears faultless.
This looks like a pretty interesting device. However, that I2S output is a deal breaker for me; I'm not about to hack the I2S bus of any of my DACs. This device needs asynchronous USB output.
Considering it has a pulse DAC internal it is going to perform very well. 99% of buyers are going to use the analog output.
@@12voltvids Given it's price point it might be worth investigating just how good its internal DAC is.
@@davidgriffin79
To my ears it sounds fantastic and I have it connected to my tube amp now.
@@12voltvids It'll be competing against two Benchmark DAC's and one Arcam (in terms as to what I'm used to hearing) so it will be interesting.
@@davidgriffin79 hi David, how did you get on with the up2stream after a few months use? How does the sound compare to your Benchmark etc? Do you know if it uses music services like Tidal directly or 3rd party renders them? Thanks, Tim
Would one second of John Lennon risk a copyright strike?
No. Generally up to 8 seconds can be used with no risk. I generally keep clips 6 to 7 seconds max. Content id takes 10 seconds to match so under 9 is generally safe.
I like stuff like this but sometimes the companies go under and then the app stops working. I had a device that could make an iphone or a droid a remote controll and then the company went under. The app stopped working and you couldnt get remote codes any more.
Well they don't have to go under for that to happen. Look at Sonos. They bricked all their older systems that had their own dedicated remotes and forced people to buy new ones.
@@12voltvids Thats true to someone was over telling me to buy sonos and replace my receiver I said would you like to buy them for me i never liked sonos they conned are friend into buying unneeded wifi hardware from them. I have a denon receiver its been pretty loyal a newerish one but with HDMI
@@12voltvids When did they brick older ones I'll have to ask are friend if there's stopped working.

@@12voltvids I read up on it after you told me loads of angry customers.
