Wonderful presentation. My sons thymus was removed as a 6.5 pound newborn during heart surgery. He now suffers with severe immunodeficiency, is unable to build immunity to vaccines, has chronic infections, has increased risk of cancer, autoimmune disease, infections. Thymectomy during heart surgery has been proven to lead to severe covid in some patients. It is likely to cause early death. They have known since the 1930s how vital the thymus is in children when they studied what happens after they irradiate it, but they still remove it to this day. In the 1980s they placed these heart surgery babies thymuses into AIDS patients. They said the babies don't need it but I guess AIDS patients do. Makes no sense. What if my son gets AIDS or gets cancer and needs chemo? They say a healthy thymus is required for someone to survive.
It's nice to see someone promoting the thymus. Thank you again.

since t-cells tackle defective 'cancer' cells, the decline of the thymus must link into the increased risks of cancer with aging.

AMPK and SIRT activation (a well known longevity strategy) goes in contrary direction of igf-1 stimulation for thymus regeneration, so how to make the two strategies coexist? Is one harming the other?

@@mitesh8utube The very point of research into ageing is that there are damage that the body has systems to repair and damage that the body *doesn't have systems to repair* .
Living healthy with a good diet is fine and dandy but totally irrelevant in the context of age research.
Ageing research is about creating regular *therapies that repair what the body doesn't have systems to repair* .
