A magnificent and enthralling performance here in 1952 in the very halcyon days of his magnificent but, of course all too short prime, Our beloved Pippo shows himself to be one of the greatest tenors of all time...would that the gods had granted even a mere 10 years at this level of vocal estate and he would have joined the shortlist of immortals epitomized by the great Caruso.
When I read comments about the length of Pippo career I say he's one of the greats with Caruso and others because his peak was legendary whether it was 10 - 15 yrs or 25 years!
@verasantarelli4088 Il calore umano che emanava dalla sua persona e dal suo canto è forse senza precedenti sulla scena lirica e io giovanissima lo ascoltavo , non so quante volte l'ho sentito in questa stessa pagina ma ero così determinata e sicura del suo canto interpretativo che ammaliava chi l'ascoltava... Allora non sapevo che l'avrei conosciuto e che sarebbe poi nata una grande amicizia fatta di stima e di affetto reciproco e ancora non riesco ad ascoltare altri cantanti pur bravi perchè Lui era un vero , geniale ARTISTA.
