Maaaan growing up I used to love going to the barbershop. The conversations, the wisdom, the connections, as well as the bullshit. The barbershop is nothing like it used to be. Now it’s all done with appointments so the shops are empty besides the few who show up early. This was a great depiction of the black barbershops back in the day.
One thing that really sets you guys apart from other channels is how deeply you all read into everything, and the discussion afterwards, its the closest I will get to a discussion about movies I like since most of my friends aren't movie fanatics.
I've been such a fan of Keith David for decades. I still remember him being the voice to the Animated Gargoyles cartoon. Back in the 80's, I used to always get his named mixed up with another actor I liked named David Keith. I loved the Drew Barrymore movie called Firestarter, where David Keith played the dad. I suggest that as a possible reaction for you, btw. The thing is, back in the day I needed a way to remember which was which, because there was more likely to be more black men named David than Keith for a first name, except for maybe Keith Sweat. I would remind myself that the black guy had the more popular white guy name, and vice versa for the white guy with the mostly popular black guy name. Lol Anywho..... Baby Drew was badass, and David Keith was such a loving dad, that it really touched me how much he loved his baby girl. That's why I was so impressed with him. The name mix up, also made me want to look at movies from Keith and respect that voice. Him, James Earl Jones, and Christopher Walkin all have unique voices that can instantly be recognized anywhere....and who's voices I love to hear in anything they do.
