Kinda confused but I feel like the reason why 3 wasn't that good is simple, cause it wasnt the ending we imagine. Instead it was really just setting up the future games. Also man, imagine how different it'd been if we didn't have the mobiles games and versus 13 being involved. Sora being the end of joke despite saving everyone also sucked. The Disney world's really being filler despite there being an TIMES CHAMBERS AREA. Other stuff too but yeah there quite an few reason why people wouldn't like 3 as much
The keystone of what I'm about to say is based on the six years of hype (I literally can't describe what it was like, you had to be there during it) and the FIVE side games we went through to get to this game. There was half the content of KH2 (not even the Final Mix version) at best. Not worth £50. We spent most of the game milling around various Disney worlds, then almost all of the story was squeezed into the endgame. Most of the characters introduced in the above five games did next to nothing. Despite being marketed as the end of a saga, the game prioritized setting up more mysteries then resolving the remaining ones. It was like DCs attempts at a cinematic universe, too preoccupied with setting up a franchise to tell a good standalone story (or in this case, a satisfying conclusion). Yeah, almost six years on, and I'm still salty. Send me to the Realm Between, because I'm emotionless until we get a release date for KH4, and only KH4.
This is the reason why I am making a rewrite series for kingdom hearts 3. It could have been way way better for sure. But I do agree with all of your points you mentioned. KH4 I would want to play but unlike kh3 I probably won't be buying it day 1

I think them setting up the future games without concluding the current saga is probably the most important reason in my opinion
