As a young boy my family owned 3 bassetts. They were the funniest rascals and if they did not want to come back into the house from our fenced in back yard you would have to get treats to get them to come back inside the house. Do not let their goofy looks good you. They can run rather fast. Our Francis girl looked just like this cute cinnamon colored pup.
same here mine loved to stay outside in her fenced in yard especially in the winter with snow,i would have to slide the door open and yell to her you want a cookie while shaking the box and only then she would come booking towards me with full steam,,,sillest antics ever and a great dog

Muy bonitos tus perritos, me encantan, pero si me lo permites te dare un consejo, y si no perdoname, pero se que si le das un palo o trozo de madera les gustara mucho mas que juguetes de tienda, con el palo se van a pelear por tenerlo, a los de plástico no le hacen ni caso porque el olor no les gusta, prueba con el trozo de madera y veras, eso si luego tienes que limpiar los pedacitos que sobrevivieron 🙄😏
the brown and white one reminds me of my bassett named lilly,she was a great and beautiful dog and miss her everyday,you are so lucky to have them both
you know, basset hounds don't bring anything but love and happiness. that what happened with my Seraphine (^^) thier big and wide paws gather it maximum for them and those who are around.
I have a 8 month old great dane...its starting to look like he will need a friend in a couple years 😍🥰. A little dude friend with nubbins for legs hehe
My basset is six weeks ago almost 7 but she isnt that big. I dont know why she isnt growing. All her other sibling's are bigger than her. Im worried now.
I have 2 bassets from the same litter. One is much bigger than the other. They are both 16 months old. The smaller one was the smallest puppy in the litter and is a small girl at only 45 pounds, but her sister is 60 pounds. Raven, the little one is happy and very healthy according to the veterinarian. She is just naturally small. My Juniper is bigger and more “voluptuous”, but is happy and healthy too, but she does eat far more than my “little soup bone”, Raven. Bassets have a wide size range. My biggest one, Rappunzel, weighed 93 pounds and was big in every way.
These two little girls just melted my heart. Little bundles of joy!

I am wondering if the ears can be trimmed to make them shorter. Like they do with the tails of some dogs.
