I would remove the Ivy from the columns - it will deteriorate the stone over time , and will showcase the decor lights on each column
When you pull the ivy, take back the Bamboo before the roots topple the towers. Then install a deep border to keep it in line. Looks nice & is shady but causes destruction! I do hope your cobblestones go through the driveway start to end.
After watching you clean the fence, I now will refer to it as your "Fertility Fence". I can't unsee it! LOL

I believe Karcher is a brand name. We call it a pressure washer. My favorite tool! ❤️. So satisfying!!
That was very satisfying to watch the gates and drive get cleaned up....it looks so much better and like you said once it is all painted it will look amazing. Also can't wait to see all the vines removed from the gate posts. Both of you are doing an incredible job on the property. Well done!! Your place is so beautiful!

there are channels on RUclips dedicated to power washing dirty properties, haha. It's very zen. As are some of my other "calm down" channels, too.
Doggies are great escape artists, I had a beautiful Saint Bernard she could open the 8ft metal gates, I had to put a padlock 🔐 on the gates to keep her in or she’d go on the runabout for hours and come back covered in mud. Lol. The place looking beautiful with all your jobs getting done.👍🏻
Good thing she only came back with mud, not a litter!

I have just bought a Karcher for cleaning the paving etc in our back garden. Watching you do yours has inspired me to get it out and have a go. Mind you it's a lot warmer in France than UK at the moment so it may not be as pleasurable 🤔😁

It would appear that those gates need a thorough session of sand blasting ( perhaps in a iron mongery ) , before any more paint gets slathered on .
Phil, the cobble stones look so much better than before as do the gates to the Chateau, it's amazing what a great job a pressure washer does. We just got through washing the front of our house due to the algae build up because of all the winter & spring rains. Can literally see the dirt falling away as Phil is power washing the gates and rails. Wonder if Angela used reverse physcology to get him into power washing. Hint, Hint! Ha! Ha! Angela was doing great and having fun noone told her of the different power settings. How is a person to learn anything should another person keep stopping the learning process. Cobbles are a great find and merely adds to the lost history of the Chateau. Wonder if they are going to power wash the Chapel and Chateau? Anyone know when the aeration system is to be installed as that will be interesting. Bet Angela knows a lot about that too now. Everything done is a learning process daily for people and life would not be interesting without. Thanks for sharing! Later!

what you need is a hydrojet Hydrovactor truck to wash driveway crud and suck up the mud.

so I have to ask, is the drive way in to the House area dirt stone or has dirt accumulation covered Cobble Stone roadway into the Chateau? You have been discovering so much, but you would think the builders way back when put cobble stone pathways into the Chateau.
The spent so much making the Chateau why would they back then cheap up on the drive way in?

Would you not paint the gates black it doesn't show as much dirt as white. And maybe paint the points of the gates at the tope gold
