Next time when you visit Matheran stay in Radha Cottage, I stayed there ,it's an amazing cottage, breakfast,lunch and dinner is good too and very near by to railway station so you don't have to do back and forth
Most hill stations have been spoilt by uncouth n thoughtless constructions and overcrowded streets( Shillong is a case in point). Traffic snarks are common even in hill stations. Matheran as described, is a pleasant exception. Let's hope others take a leaf out of Matheran's book.
