How else would "God consciousness" have spread around the world without Christianity? Could the Jews have done it alone? The problem with Christianity is that they turned Yeshua Ha Notzri into a God which is idolatry. But at least this institution spread the Torah, the moral codes, and the idea of a messiah throughout the world. Would you have preferred the nations remained pagan like the Greeks and Romans? What's your problem?
