Omg there is a lot going on here...this is a massive arrangement with just two people...Mike is the core part of this with the percussionist beside him ...I love all the effects such brilliant placement I might add...this definitely has a serious great vibe and I love the barefoot chilling out performance it’s so genuine him just there humbly showing off his craft ...there were many layers to this and I thoroughly enjoyed this...and his toes did a great job 🤣...the falsetto and harmonies were great and so was the skank...all and all this was filled with greatness ...and I agree the solo was immaculate 💯💯💯
Thank you for the great breakdown! I'm from Hawaii and have been lucky to see Mike play in Maui several times and met him after the show 3 different times. He remembered my name and the conversations we had despite our meetings being like a year apart. This man is a special kind of human
Dude, your face when Mike and Sam started their harmonies. That “jaw on the floor” OMG! look was a perfect imitation of mine when i first saw Mike Love! My introduction was a song called Penniless. The vocal passion and heart this dude projects AMAZES me EVERYTIME i listen to him.
Mike Love is a pure gem in musicianship. He was an underground legend in Hawaii for years and I'm so happy he's finally getting recognized. He used to and still does perform his entire set alone. I was looking for an old video of him when I stumbled upon this. Great work with the reaction and breakdown of Mike's genius 👌
Hey nice breakdown, I have to throw out one Mike love recommendation. The famous prolific singer songwriter Chris Cornell that passed a few years ago is brilliantly covered acoustic by Mike love. It shows a very high level of music knowledge, and in fact the only guy I've seen cover Chris Cornell with justice. Chris Cornell "seasons" covered by Mike love. Cheers mate! Nice content.
He’s does a lot of shows in Hawaii and he’s absolutely fantastic live!!!!! Permanent Holiday is one of my favorites from him! I was so stoked to see your reaction (you being a musician and all)
Bless up, brother. Loving your insight on a massive tune like this. If ever your curiosity for reggae finds its way down to the deep south here in Aotearoa (New Zealand), we have such a huge range of tracks that were forged in the flames of Rasta. I would suggest the group L.A.B, and especially their tracks 'Boy King'
