Being a Messy modeler I thought it would be a good idea. It did not work out for me for larger scale modelling but it was good for smaller substructures with the fiddly bits that normally feed the carpet monster.
I have a reasonably sized table for my model making. Once a project gets underway the available working space shrinks down to about the same area as that work station. It seems to be a universal law for anyone who has a work bench or uses any flat surface. The clutter just progressively invades.
I've been thinking about getting something like this. I'll probably buy the one from Revell as I've got loads of Aqua Color paints in those square pots.
Thanks for the review! But imho an unstable base is a no-go. The „cup holders“ are designed for only one or two brands. The brush holders may be useful for storing - but with paint on them I assume paint will flow onto the grip during painting pauses (gravity is a law). I took a piece of wood and drilled holes in them, adjusted to the size of the containers I use. For mixing colors I use plastic containers with a tap (specimen containers the size of shot glasses from the pharmacy), so leftover paint will not dry out. K.I.S.S. = Keep It Simple and Stupid! 😜😉

Now I've had it a week, it's very handy. Slightly wider would be better but I'm pleased with it. Not seen the revell one, I'll have a look. Cheers

Now I've had it for a week or so, it's levelled itself out.I guess it had warped a bit in the shop.
I'm thinking that might be useful as a PE workstation, provided it can be made stable.
Nice idea!
It has sorted itself out now it's been used a few days.
