Some big things that can help with highlander: You can follow up finisher heavies with a zone. You can forward dodge and press gb to get a bit more distance on the grab. You can dodge attack in offensive stance. The offensive stance taunt is a good mixup on people who react to movement. Don’t forget to throw it back once in a while (Highlander wiggle is objectively funny) Thanks for playing this character Nova! Love the content!

Nova please don’t give up on Highlander. It’s defiantly a learning curve but once you start to get an actual feel for him you will not regret it. I just started playing HL this year and am currently at rep 50. He’s by far the funniest character to play.
I find one of the best ways to play highlander is dont get too ambitious with his stance quick into the match. Ill go into stance and cancel out very frequently. You can also go into zone after a heavy finisher as well as heavy after the zone. His stance forward lunge into grab is useful. But so is his regular stance lunge heavy. I find its best to use as a trade/confirm when youre both low on health ( i like to use it on wardens who spam zone alot because the trade is heavily in my favor) Also a great mixup is going into stance conditioning them to try to parry your lights then cancel out of stance for a light parry/parry attempt interrupt
Using the theme from Skyrim, (Which I feel bad about forgetting what it was called) Was such a badass choice. Really makes Highlander with his Maddox skin feel so much more larger and stronger than he is.
