Enjoy your posts and always learn something. The two green goblets for $4 are actually Martha Stewart sold at K-Mart in the 1990s. I got mine as a gift from my sister years ago one year for Christmas.
In the early sixties in Inglewood California, on the way to the private parochial Lutheran K-8 school.. there was a doll hospital, my mother is one of those practical folks, I can remember her taking one of her old dolls in, she didn't talk a lot - but she wasn't happy.. she grew up in a very small town Houghton Lake Michigan very touristy - her father had a Ford dealership a cement block Factory a sawmill, they also did Ice cutting and set up ice camps for fishermen- along with the bunkhouse where they housed & fed 20 some odd men, you might have had lots of businesses to keep the bunkhouse boys busy... she ran a trap line for muskrats, Grandma cooked them up they taste just like chicken, grandma was a wonderful cook.. she sold the Skins to save money for her future..
You continue to amaze me with your spectrum of knowledge. I don't think I've seen any of your content without learning something. By the way, I'd never heard of the Extravaganza in Mt Dora until watching one of your videos. Now I have a trip planned for the November show and already have a hotel. I hope we (Donna and I) can meet you there. It seems you do have a booth there frequently. (I'll be the Brad Pitt lookalike...no small feat for a 69 year old!)
Good evening, George! There was an Egyptian papyrus, in front of the Zenith radio, that caught my eye. I'm an ancient Egyptian nut. I really liked that black marble, on the sideboard. The formal look of the black marble is appealing to me. Those Fenton "Orange Tree" tumblers were actually "Orange Tree Orchard". The "Orange Tree" has four feet on them, and they are almost always chipped...it's expected. That barrister's bookcase was really nice. I could definitely use one of those, after this weekend. For some unknown reason, I'd really like to have one of the old school bells. Loved the Marilyn Monroe potato sack dress poster! She looked great in anything! There were a lot of old doorknobs there that caught my eye. I like old doorknobs. I have an old oak store display, but it has no shelves. I display a Jenny Lind doll my grandmother made in it. I would call that 1890 side-by-side a bonnet dresser. I have a nice oak highboy that has a hat box in it. There were a lot of really interesting things there! There were several furniture pieces that I really liked. Thanks for the take-along!
I do like the black marble, especially offset with bright pastel china...but that's just the fussy side of me I don't really get to express since I don't have a Victorian home. Thank you for the clarification on the Fenton variant, I'll look for feet on Orange Tree! I need another barister bookcase in my life, I've sold four in two years and now wish I had one to take to shows. Marilyn was amazing in so many ways and I love that story! I thought you'd enjoy this one and I'm glad you got to see it!
@@TheAntiqueNomad The "Orange Tree" pieces that have the four feet are the water set, the table set, the berry set and the hatpin holder. Those feet are the main reason Fenton didn't reintroduce those pieces when they did some reissues. Those feet come to quite a sharp point, and they didn't fare very well.
What a great place, didn't know about the salt/pepper pitcher shakers. Good to know though. Love all the Fenton and Bohemian glass. You have a great day and safe travels
Folks not only wanted Shirley Temple products, but wanted their own little Shirley, because according to Shirley Temple's autobiography, her dad was "propositioned" many times in hope of making this happen.
20:34 I like the odd numbers because then you still have a set if one gets broken. 🤪 Maybe that’s a parents’ way of thinking. That Murano piece is just lovely; I thought it was Viking at first. Looks like a fun place to shop! Hope you’re well! 🤗
Oh, I missed it! I don't know where that antique store is. I was looking for one there last June. Glad you found one I didn't. Went to the Cat one. Bought several pieces of Jewelry there. Love that thin hall tree. Thanks George
Hi George, Kristin with 503Vintage in Portland OR. On this video you find some Inarco and I thought I’d add some color to your story. My parents were married in 1964. They would drive to the coast and play the games at the arcade in Seaside, where those pieces were given away as prizes on some of the games there. My parents won several pieces of the Mood Indigo, of which I have decided to part with and are now for sale at my booth at Memory Den!
Another fun video. This place was truly incredible! Fun pieces around every corner. My grandfather had 3 lawyers bookcases 2 were i think 5 high and the last was 3. That one held the readers digest which i was allowed to read some of after i reached 5th grade. 😂❤ by then id exhausted the young readers at the library, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Meg, Tarzan, little house... and so on...
I had that Jones scale in my booth and sold it for$119, mine was in very good condition but I did do my homework on that piece and typed it out for buyer.
George , a lady in Manchester, NH a town next to me bought a painting at a Antique/Vintage store there. Turned out to be a Wyeth it’s one of five. It’s known a second one is is found. She has it at Massachusetts auction Skinners and something? It’s believed to bring in $250K and possibly more. I’m excited for her and it’s a beautiful work of art. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I'm a bit behind and trying to catch up! Sept 9 is my last day at my cabin at our little summer Farmer's Market. Still working on the living estate and I won't be doing the market anymore and will continue online helping with estates. Thanks for the great videos as always!
Another great video. I always learn a lot from your videos and I'm grateful for them. Thank you. If possible, please talk some more about Chinese/Japanese pieces.
@@TheAntiqueNomad I just bought a new set of silverware, black because that's what we were gifted 4 years ago and we needed more pieces. Anyway...I found a replacement set with 45 pcs., but... it was a 5 piece service for 9... that should drive you completely crazy George 😂❤
I believe that COLETTE was the sculpter Rodin's muse-assistant sculptress for many years. They lived in the Paris of the Impressionists, Salons and idle rich. Quite a story George. She never truly received the respect her work demanded. She ended her dreadful life after many years in a mental hospital.
You mentioned not understanding putting out sets of 3 and 5 glasses, but I think a set of 5 is perfectly acceptable. After all, in many asian cultures it was bad luck to have a set of 4. Set of 3 though? Definitely an odd one. Either sell it as a pair or use them as "upcycled" candle votives. Those would look lovely as candle votives with a more refined wood tone home
The Dali French travel posters are my favorite - I have two sets. Heck no she shouldn't be covered! She should be displayed the way the artist painted her. I am with Laura Cauldwell - I love female nudes. LOVE the adding machine. I am kind of obsessed with those. Used to have a gorgeous brass and copper one I sold. Wish I hadn't.
17:10 bills were stamped Hawaii in case the Japanese took over the island during WW2. If they had done that, the US government would of then simply said those bills were no longer legal tender, and so the Japanese would not be able to use the currency for nefarious means.
I wish I could, I really like that show and the people there! I have an event the next weekend in Marshall, Michigan and the week after that in Springfield, Illinois
One of the dolls looks like an original Tiny Tears. Santa brought me one when I was 4 😊
George thank you for another journey and the education. You are just a wealth of knowledge. Thank you so much
When I sell 3 of any thing, I call it a pair with a spare!
Lots of interesting things in the store. You are very knowledgeable! 😅
Wow, George you are close to 60 K subscribers. Way to go !!
It's so interesting to see collections from different parts of the country.
I've been watching you for about 6 months and you are very knowledgeable and love watching your content
I appreciate that! Thanks and keep on watching, we'll have fun!
I like his demeanor. Calming speaking, steady camera work, and a quirky sense of humor.
I'm always fascinated by your knowledge. You seem to know something about everything. Thank you!

Love learning from you George

❤️❤️❤️oak bakery display cabinet!
My mother- in- law used a carboy for wine making back in the day. It broke all over the kitchen she was as mad as a wasp. 😂
Ooh I bet that’d be a mess
I wish I knew that you were in Idaho Falls, I would have been honored if I could have seen you in person!
Just wonderful..thanks ever so much.
Thank you too!
Fun video George. Thanks for sharing!
You can find the damijohn at the curb recycle day in Toronto!
Love this shop
Hello George!😊❤
Thanks George!😊
I like odd number of glasses. Could always be someone without a date. 😉
OMG! The booth with the new neon car signs had a Velvet Peanut Butter-😮 under the Ford mustang sign. I've been looking for one of those!
The Dunken Sanabel piece is lovely. Don't know the correct spelling, though 😂
Thank you, George for the intetesting discussion on these items.
Such a fun video, ty
I always see something I'd never seen before,,love the cobalt in Festa,,and Marilyn's potatoe dress❤

How amazing this "glow" business is...first time in my 45+ years of reselling it is all the rage!
I think it happened out west once prior, in the 1990s

I also buy odd numbers of glasses to have one in reserve. No need to hold one back if customers like me are happy with it.
That's what everyone seems to agree, so I guess i'm convinced!
How do remember all these facts about antiques & vintage items
I've been doing this awhile!
Great info as always George!
Thanks again!

I will try to find a good collection of Asian items to show, I really do often only see 20th century examples but the period pieces are fascinating
Thank you very much. Any Chinese items that are pre-War II are interesting. It's a tricky area and I will value your expertise!

George it called Ramona , auction 9/19 Bonahans Skinner.
Very good to know, thank you!

It does seem odd to me to cover up something that isn't really prurient, given the ease with which people can see much more lewd things nowadays
Edgermann made this ruby stained engraved Bohemian glassware.
