I usually use nuclear engines for deep space missions. a 2m square fuel tank with a vacuum optimized nuclear engine with water fuel gets about 7km/s of Delta v
Water is better for smaller craft. Hydrogen is better for larger ships since hydrogen has double the efficiency for the same mass of water. The down side is that the volume is significantly larger due to the lower density.

Water fuel? Wow, I have never learned about its usage in this game, for nuclear rockets? Can you tell me?

people don't usually use it because it has less thrust but i like it
