Looks nice Joe! Some nice thick boards from the pallet! Was that a shoulder plane you used?
thanks cy.and yea they were! &no that was a low angle block plane..Stanley;) tha ks for watching. shoulder plane looks more like a big stapler you get at a hardware store.not the secretary kind..lol
+Cy's Corner hey cy,,,just a f.y.i. if u watch my videos from desk/laptop i use annotations to explain what im doing and what i use..:)
+Joe basementwoodworking Cool! I watch from my phone, tablet or computer. Good to know more info pops up from non-phone viewing!
+Cy's Corner yeah for some reason the cards show up on your cell phone but anotations only show up on laptops tablets or desktops don't know why but they should definitely fix that because I usually watch videos from my phone to and then later on at night if I'm at home I'll watch it on my laptop anyways just wanted to let you know that and thanks for watching. I appreciate it
Woodglut scripts contain most of the woodworking plans you can find.
First, Thanks for the shout out. Second, Awesome looking tray man! love the epoxy finish. and you used my fav oil finish to! All around great in my book! thanks again
likewise, and yea i think it adds a little something to it. and itll help with spills..i hope . thats the main objective. linseed i like using on all pallet wood projects pops the grains i love it.thanks for watching man!
your wood thickness
Maruf Mamnun glad someone has a sense of humor and can take a joke..lol thanks for watching and commenting
Thanks , I already make it with half inch thick and i try to inlay cow horn tablets
Maruf Mamnun nice!
Nice project Joe! The wood on the bottom of the tray looks pretty cool.
+GuysWoodshop thank you sir! it turned out nice i must say . and usually i dont say..lol im hoping to get a few more things done by the 19th.21st is the benefit raffle..thanks for always watching man
Very nice tray, quite heavy duty, not to heavy I hope. Joe you should really get in the habit of using a push block or stick when you are sawing on the table saw, your hands are getting very close to the blade. It only takes one ooops! Just saying'...I want to see you make many more projects with all of your fingers! Cheers ! Keep up the nice work!
Stryker 2 thanks bro!& it's just heavy enough..and yes ur right I use push sticks and blocks more now a days if u watch my more recent vids I'm more careful too and also have a different table saw too thanks for the concern I appreciate it and thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate your support !🍻
Plan on building another one soon..have a couple Greene and Greene projects I'd LIKE to tackle first but we'll see. Maybe I'll start the year off with a nice modern looking pallet wood serving tray instead...
I did it myself with the Woodglut plans. I think this is the best way to find out how to build it.
Sweet looking tray, Joe! The oil made a huge difference
+SimpleCove thanks man! it really does. for some reason i like the way it hits pallet wood the best. thanks for watching and the comment
I think you can learn more about it on wood prix website.
Dude that tray looks freaking cool bro. I like all the contrasting colors of the pallet wood. Great job joe
thanks moy! i liked the way it turned out too. its for my frie ds benefit raffle so if i want one ill have to build another one..oh well guess ill have to go back down to my shop for a couple hours..lol;] thanks for watching bro!
Freakin nice tray Joe! Love the way the different woods look on the bottom.

Lou
Your trash my treasure thanks bro! and i like it wish the in and outfeeds were longer but gets the job done for what i need it to do ya know..thanks for watching

+Barry Roberts thanks barry! i do too. the linseed oil popped the colors nicely thanks for watching man i appreciate it!
I'm hoping to get my brother to help me make something like this & a spice rack. (Single mom) & not super comfortable with power saws. Lol
Bonnie Dedrick Have confidence and you'll do fine. Or you could make it/this using hand tools ..tag me on Instagram @jotooljunkie if u have Instagram and do make one.thanks again for watching
Will do Joe, thanks! :)
What is the point of drawing a line with a square before cutting it? Just curious, doesn't make sense to me unless you were going to cut it by hand. Beautiful tray!
good point..haha. i guess my ocd and/or force of habbit..??- . next time im just cutting off the nail holes i wont use the square..well,ill try not to. if my ocd will let me.lol-thanks for watching and the comment man!:)
Lol. I've seen others do it as well and I never knew why. Ocd will always win though... Don't fight it. Lol.
Jonathan Mutchler what i usually do is measure the boards to length off camera mark it with an awl and then on camera I can just hit the lines and cut the boards to length. but in this case it didn't matter and the ocd took over. Ive seen others do it too.lol.
+Joe basementwoodworking Your secret is safe with me.
+Jonathan Mutchler haha!thanks john.
looks good Joe, looks like your staying busy!
thanks man! yea with this benefit coming up i want to help out as much as i can.. time and materials permitting.thanks for always watching bro appreciate it!!
Muy bien hecho, aún que la música me recuerda a una antigua película porno. 😜
Lol..thanks for watching and the comment! Appreciate your support
Nice project. The epoxy made it food safe. It would be a good idea to line the entire inside with epoxy in fact.
Dave XB thanks and thanks for watching and yes I thought about that so what I did was 1st make another one similar to this one because I donayed this one tmas a raffle prize for my friends benefit amoung other things, then sanded it down and used cutting board oil instead it's just sitting on our kitchen table with flower vases and a napkin holder LOL
The epoxy looks good on the inside. Nice looking tray, Joe!
thanks chris! i figured if something spills its water proof...at least i thinknit is..lol
and thanks for watching Chris!pkg is on the way.hope u like amd get use of it.:]
Came out great Joe. If I may, saw Jimmy D use some 3M rubber backed sandpaper and started using it. It's pricey but I will never go back to any other. Give it a try. Glad I subscribed to your channel.
thanks i have 3m but in 800and2000 grit. I use that for my turnings like pens, bowls and stuff like that.. but thanks for the heads up bro . appreciate it. and thanks for watching and subscribing
ohh rubber backed?? never tried that stuff before. .ill definitely look into that.thanks again for heads up:]
hey bill i ordered the rubber back paper ..i love it!! I feel like my Diablo stuff is going to be sitting there collecting dust instead of making dust now lol how have you been

I have more confidence in my cooking than in my powersaw skills. Lol
Bonnie Dedrick ...vice verse for me..lol
I would have posted pics of the food I'm making tonight, but you can't in comments. lol
@@bonnied72 you should make videos on what u cook! I'm sure you would get PLENTY of views and subs.
great video and nice Job. consider me a subscriber. just was wondering why you didn't put a couple of screws from the inside to hold the handle, just in case the ca glue gave out somewhere far down the line??
patrick mcglone thanks bro! i put a couple brad nails in it off cam but thats a good point/idea. thanks for the idea, watching, and support bro!
Joe basement woodworking I hope I didn't offend you, not my intention, I haven't worked with CA glue yet so that's why I asked. again great job.
patrick mcglone no lol not at all bro! I appreciate any input or suggeations. The screws are a much better idea anyways because I recently well not recently but like 6 months ago made another one for our Grill and I dropped it and the handles broke right off now if they would have been screwed in with the glue they would have stayed on but being Brad nailes on with the CA glue they didn't hold up but no not at all offended brother I appreciate u subscribing and support👍👍🍻
Joe Basement Woodworking & DIY I would either use a square head( nicer looking) or a torx head screw. Just my .2¢
joe ,thanks for sharing :-) simple n beautiful build.
Mahendra Tiwari thanks! yes it was and since then ive made a few others .a little different and with other hard woods. im glad you like it. and thanks for watching and commenting appreciate your support

Nice detailing with block plane and chisel Joe 👍
thanks man i appreciate that. amd thanks for watching.
Wow the linseed oil really made the color of the wood brighter looks great ! Iv never used but after seeing this I'm gonna get some love it ! Also I have the same band saw love mine.
linseed oil does that to all woods BUT,, it tends to leave a yellowish color on the lighter woods like pine. and yea its a great band saw i have one complaint.and it should've came with a fence..right!?!:] hey thanks for watching man
Yes it should have !
***** whats the biggest size blade u put on for re sawing?
A 3/8 I tried a little resawing with a 1/4 it did it but a 3/8 would do a better job.
beautiful...

Nice Job!
thanks jim!- its funny cuz my sisyers friend sd she wanted a serving tray made and I thought you know I know I made one I just forget how it turned out thanks for watching man I appreciate the support
lol
supreme serving tray still i cant believe you made that from pallet woods! looks amazing
yea its all from pallet wood. except the walnut handles.lol! thanks for watching! i appreciate it
Seems like you didn't show the epoxy step, would have been nice to see how that got done
Follow Me you are absolutely right I did not show it.. reason for that is I decided to do it after the buold part of the video was uploaded and edited. Its pretty easy though. Just mix up the epoxy 50/50 & pour it in the tray.i spred it out with a plastic putty knife took my heat gun to it or hair dryer to get all the bubbles out let it sit for 24-hours" rinse and repeat" until ur satistfied with the thickness/shine of epoxy.. If I had to guess I would say the bottom probably has about an eighth of an inch thickness of a epoxy..hope that helps& thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate the support I do have plans on making a serving tray in the near future tis the season this time I won't leave that step out
