Solid review! It looks good but the height and the look of them claws I’m a bit effy on. I still think the ML one is the best with some custom metal claws.

The claws are the _least_ of your worries. They've been drawn that big, but I'd still prefer shorter. It's just that these Mafex figures are riddled with QC issues. So many paint app issues, plastic defects, etc. But the aesthetics/engineering is top notch. I just wish the QC was near Hasbro level quality.

I have two coming my way, and always have to buy two or three Mafex due to the issues. Hasbro definitely does a better job with painting figures.
I understand the exaggerated look of the claws in the Revoltech Wolverine because that figure was made to look exaggerated like an anime figure. But this Mafex Wolverine was made to look human like not cartoonish. So the claws should match the length of his forearm, not straight but have a curved look to it.
I was rewatching this review Boog for some inspiration for posing and photos for my new VHS Xmen Wolverine, and it made me realise how far legends have come, as arguably the VHS Xmen Wolverine is as good as the Mafex release at a higher price point
Looking back at this review after it popped up in my playlist lol I’ve had this guy since release and it’s been nothing but fun. Perfect sculpt,great paint and awesome articulation. This guy got a lot of hate because of the arm issue but it is definitely the BEST Wolverine figure hands down.
I watched like maybe 8 reviews on this, wanted it since the first images popped up so im still getting one soon, some people really trashed the figure though but its perfect to me lol
If you can justify spending the money then get it. Reviews should help reinforce your decision one way or the other. Not tell you what to buy. Enjoy the figure.
Great review, I was hoping to hear your take on this figure. Well put with the wrists and thighs, I dig the long claws(MvC style) but the end result does leave his hands looking a bit small. I think the skin could have been a tad darker as well, but I haven't seen it in person yet. Marvel Legends has a really good silhouette but I think this is the Wolverine I've been wanting.
@BOOG_ACBA.. thanks for the review , I like mine , I barely have any issues with the popping out arms. I have to really yank my arms strong for them to pop off so I can tell you and everyone that it’s not every figure that has the arm issue . People can still get an QC issue free wolvie. Like mine.. it seems like it’s up to chance unfortunately. BTW, the boots swivel 360 on mine you just have to carefully nudge it at first to loosen it up. Try heat on yours.
I was waiting for your review on this before I pulled the trigger because you always keep it 1000%. I think you summed it up perfectly... this purchase will surely just be for the collection flex. Thanks again, another great review king!
Yeah I moved on from the Mezco wolverine too. Good claws though. You can fix the legends claw problem with third pet claws easily. But I just wish the head had bigger fins. Love the mafex heads here.
Boog the reason why mafex didn't include any cigar is because a few years back marvel put a no smoking ban on figures (or something around like that) which is why revoltech took away their cigar

Another solid review. I'm happy to have this fig, but for the price point I expected more. Totally agree about the claws. I'm debating clipping them and then hitting 'em with a Molotow liquid chrome marker. Haven't. Been able. To do it. Though. *hands shaking* I disagree about the height, though. Spider-man's only supposed to be 5'7", so I think Wolvie stacks up perfectly there, going by the top of his head (not the top of the mask fins). The figure that's way off in this line is Venom. Way too short, imo.
i'm just waiting for this to ship with mafex cyclops if they dont' delay it this month, but i can tell you the ML tiger stripe i have (1 of only 3 ML i have) just simply cannot do some of the poses that is show in promo by mafex or some of the poses other reviewers have done. the limitation in the torso and shoulder is very obvious vs mafex.

OK so this review has me thinking I'll probably just grab the love triangle 3pack. Although this figure doesn't look bad I do think that he's a little expensive. I wouldn't pay $80 for any figure that's limbs come off. That's sketchy to me apparently cyclops has similar issues.
Theres a lot to like on this one but yeah it doesn't come together for me. Spider-man continues to be my high bar for Mafex Marvel. I'm 100% with you on him having some bird legs. For me, the perfect claws are somewhere between X force, revoltech, and mezco. I want them thinner than the X force, similar style but shorter than the revoltech. The mezco probably the closest for my money but it's just the hands. I'm not feeling that figure at all otherwise. I'm thinking oneday I might grab some KOs and try to kitbash together my perfect wolverine. Heads off the Mafex, legends body, and the revoltech hand/claw options.
I find the mafex to a good look, it's just a pity that the claws are not the proportions of the Wolverine - alarm. I hesitate to buy it, because it makes several reviews that I see, where the arms easily detach, me who wanted to use it to make a video in a stopmotion, I hesitate very much, and therefore I prefer the Marvel Legends version. Too bad he's not his cigar, it would give a much more badass look I think.😉 So, good review bro 👍🏽
Real talk you hard to please (pause) valid point but damn lol I actually feel like I’m finally getting the version of Wolverine I always envisioned since I got into comics and I really feel legends nailed it with the three pack but still missed my ideal build of Wolverine. Mafex with this offering sealed the fate of my legends Wolverine turning him into a shelf warmer. QC issues aside is it a flex; “yes” cause the legends Wolverine is fine but but but but; im all in on mafex comic based line the Wolverine figure really hits my itch for a better articulated tiger striped 90’s Wolverine & I think with good lighting you can make those blue stripes look black shaded like the comic book.
Am note sure about this fig. It’s definitely cool but that price is very Unattractive. I agree fig should have been smaller (even when compared to there figs) and definitely should of brung more accessories. In the end I am probably gonna get it to match that Cyclops that’s Coming out.

This wolverine is based on the 90s ver. Back then I dont think he was so much in the short size.

They should of added an extra set of the normal length claws out? That why people can choose the length they prefer.
