To many people throw away the handles as their focus is on restoring the head, to me they're as important as each other where possible restoring both is the best outcome. Well done 👏
@@FALCON390Workshop what struck me as sloppy was seeing that, after having used a band saw to force the handle down to shape, you left the area rough.. I would have loved to see it sanded smooth like the rest of the handle
@@FALCON390Workshop when you restore do you need to make it look like a mirror? and that axe you restored was nice, I thought you was going to change the handle, if you don't have to change anything then don't leave the character or the patina alone
@@oyesimon8112 I don't want to mirror shine my axes. This axe head was in good shape with not a lot of pitting and it turned out shiny without planing 😊
@@FALCON390Workshop I'm not saying you did, I like the way you left the patina of the axe along, some people want an axe or any knife to look like a mirror it's not necessary and it's time consuming
The more original, the better... glad you kept it. Beautiful work. New subscriber
Glad to hear that.

I like that more difficult approach with that handle., most wont struggle with it and just cut it off. Good video over all.
Thanks a lot !
Good work saving that old ax and the original handle.

I wuld have kept the handle to help me get the same shape on a new pice of wood to act as a template
Nice one
Great job man!! That hatchet is awesome!! Very nice piece!! What country are you in? England!
Hey!
Thanks!
Yes, I'm based in England :)
muito legal show de bola

Emm, applying oil/ liquid to a dry wood handle will make the wood swell and make the head harder to get off
I know this now 🤣
Можно узнать зачем мыть с мвлом и тереть .если все равно диском шлифуешь?
??
Not bad, but you got sloppy with the last part of the fitting imo
Hey! Thanks!
Could you expand your comment so we know what bits i could improve? :)

Hi Falcon, is this a Brades Criterion 378?
Hi
It's Brades criterion 312.
I was thinking 'keep' too.
👍
Is this axe going up for sale?
It's sold already, sorry.
FALCON390 Workshop was it by chance sold on eBay?
That's right
FALCON390 Workshop I thought I had seen it. Looked great. Shame I didn’t bid on it. Enjoyed the video.
@@kevinsmallwood9319 There are going to be more axes for sale soon.
Very bag choice superglue...it has no shock resistance...it is better to put woodglue with a seringe in the crack...but great job😉
I'll definitely try wood glue next time. Thanks :)
Hitting hammer on Hammer was and will never be a wise idea. Watch your eyes buddy ^^
👍
keeping the handle was good idea... but i dont like dirty working place / working desk, dirty and not well adjusted tools…
I will keep my work area cleaner I promise.
What tools do you have in mind ?
Round wedge not in keeping with a vintage axe,
Why ?
Keeping the handle was correct.
Thanks
А новое топорище купить денег не хватило такое оборудование а кусок дерева обработать не может .
