This is one of my favorite albums of all time. The first 4 albums are so different from each other. That's what makes them so great. "ToFast" ; "Shout at the Devil" ; "Theater" ; & "Girls.." are still awesome. I started getting into heavier stuff when "Dr. Feelgood" came out. But, I'm sure the rest were good too.
Reminds me of when i was 15 going to high school i love vince neal n the crue so much. Saw um in 1985 theater of pain tour wow i miss these days so much. Im 54 now our music back then was kick ass
Shout at the Devil was menacing & a true classic, and this album sounded way more HAIR metal, but in a really charming way. I remember being a bit confused when i got it, yet i instantly loved "City Boy blues" and that cool intro. I wanted something more dangerous, yet i kept listening to it, because the Crue just have a way with a hook, a riff & a song.
Seen the "Smokin' In The Boys Room" video on Headbanger's Ball when I was 8 years old, been a huge fan since. Gonna miss Mick Mars but he's been on the road entertaining us for half his life, he deserves it. God bless you Mick and best wishes. 🖤🤘🏻
Newcastle city hall brings back so many great memories for me. They were absolutely brilliant. This album had just released and Tommy was doing his drum roll. Rock was king then.
I listen to this one more than Girls or Feelgood. The first 2 were easily their best and 1994 was excellent musically, regardless of who sang on it. Many hard rock crue fans didn't like it, as it was not as hard, but fit into 1985 perfectly, and the band didn't like it, because of what they were going through at the time, Vince's accident and Nikki getting into Heroin, Tommy distancing himself by marrying Heather and moving to Beverly Hills, Mick was drinking a bottle of vodka per day, so it was not their favorite time.
It's a shame that there's no PRO-SHOT Live complete performances from this Tour, MOTLEY should take all the "Pro-Shot/Live" Footage from 1981-1989 and release it upgraded on 4k UHD or BluRay . Aerosmith/Scorpions did a great job Remastering and Releasing Vintage Live Show's, KISS/VH/ACDC should do the same.
I went seen them twice on this tour even though we weren't old enough to drive and had to get a ride from my mom the first time. The second time was through a woman that worked for my dad and they left me and my body there in Detroit, so luckily a cop picked us up and let us call my mom from the precinct, and she had to come pick us up at like 1 in the morning...
This album is lousy, even Vince Neil the vocalist said that the album contains only two good songs, Smokin In The Boys Room and Home Sweet Home and the rest is filler, he said that in the movie The Dirt, the members of the band confirmed the story as told in the movie, this band had much luck that Mick Mars was the guitar player and played some good guitar solos, he actually saved this band from totally boredom.
Love Motley, Seen them in 1980 w OZZY and local band Wasted. Motley was jus coming up and I got to see them all the way to there Stadium tour. I've been there the whole ride thru the 80s n 90s! Hate what's going on now w Mick ;; He's 1 of the Greatest guitarist I've ever heard. Bluesy for sure. He's still worth his 25%, sorry guys, but it's the truth. Motley,, Forever in my heart! 🖤🖤🖤🤟🤟🤟🖕🖕🖕🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was fortunate enough to see this tour in Florida and Autograph opened up. If i recall the tickets were around 8 dollars and the show was general admission which means you can fight your way to the front row baby✌️😎👉💯
not a good follow up to Shout at the Devil. I remember a lot of people being disgusted and let down when this came out. And listening to it again today, I can see why.
The atmosphere of this record is the best example to understand the decadence of the LA scene in mid 80s. The crue created the scene and the crue degenerated the scene. The rest were just followers of the böys. Masterpiece.
And it's funny that Mick was like 20 years older than the rest of the band too. And now they are treating him like shit. Sad when bands come to this. Mick remained solid from the beginning to the end..Team Mick baby!!..I saw them on this tour and they were awesome.
I wasn't into Crue as a teenager. I was into anything from Zeppelin to Maiden, and "hair metal" --- Crue, Poison, etc. --- were well outside my listening zone. That said, Crue was unique. They had their own sound, attitude, and following. Their riffs were killer, and some of their songs --- whether I was a big fan of theirs or not --- some of their songs were 80s classics. Got to give them credit... for what they were, they rocked.
I remember getting into my parents music collection and listening to all these in my room on a Turntable, AM/FM, 8-Track, Dual Cassette, Aux(iliary) jack for CD player, all in one system i had with speakers wire spliced together.
FANTASTIC ALBUM HERE. . OLDIE BUT GOODIE. . NOT ONE BAD SONG OFF THIS GREAT ALBUM. . A SOLID FUCKIN 10. . I SAW THIS ALBUM TOUR TWICE. KICK ASS CONCERT BOTH TIMES. . . HORNS UP. CRANK IT UP LOUD. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Not going to lie, it took a while for me to love this album. My dad got me into and made me appreciate Mötley Crüe more, between him and shout at the devil of course. The reason i was reluctant with this album was because of "keep your eye on the money", grant it, I do like the power chords used in the song, but for me, it's just too poppy and mainstream, it has a poison sound to it, no offense to anyone who likes poison, just not my cup of tea, and "home sweet home", it's just too much of a sappy ballad, but i have to admit I enjoy the guitar solo, because it shows how underrated and talented Mick Mars is. But honestly, the rest of the album, it's actually a really good rock and roll album. But hey, say what you want about this album, it's a masterpiece compared to generation swine. That was an utter disaster. I don't know what they were thinking.
Totalmente de acuerdo, y muy ninguneado, este álbum de los Mötley es muy subestimado y tiene un potencial enorme, solo cambiaron la imágen pero la música era rock puro y duro, los 80's fué la década dorada
This really puts me back there in my bedroom listening to this and my walls covered in Crue posters❤
It's great
I'm still listening to them in my bedroom with the walls covered in posters. Great days Liz.
Me right now…..

me too, I started to get into metal that was so much heavier. I still like some of the lighter stuff at times when in the mood
Reminds me of when i was 15 going to high school i love vince neal n the crue so much. Saw um in 1985 theater of pain tour wow i miss these days so much. Im 54 now our music back then was kick ass

Has this album on cassette back in the day. Thank you for letting me experience this greatness with the privilege of modern technology.

MICK MARS IS A BEAST OF GUITAR! GREAT MASTER
He really is!!!!! He’s been so underrated through the years!
And it's funny that Mick was like 20 years older than the rest of the band too.
And now they are treating him like shit.
Sad when bands come to this.
Mick remained solid from the beginning to the end..Team Mick baby!!..I saw them on this tour and they were awesome.
@Jack Action he's not that much older. He's 8 years older than Nikki, 10 years older than Vince and 12 years older than Tommy
@username-zj9id Add all ages together, divide by 3 and you have a decade.
@@subicstationditosailor4053 decade of decadence :)

I don't understand the hate for this album. This heavy and Vince kicked ass here. Love this sound! Even the Crue hate this one...just don't get it.
The time period is why. Vince had just killed somebody and was looking at prison, and Nikki was deep into drugs
Otherwise, the album was great
My first Motley album then i went backwards! Loved every album and song!
My favorite Crue album.
Great album and band
I remember getting into my parents music collection and listening to all these in my room on a Turntable, AM/FM, 8-Track, Dual Cassette, Aux(iliary) jack for CD player, all in one system i had with speakers wire spliced together.

I don’t give a hoot what anybody says about this album. Personally, I happen to think it’s great. I was a young, 19 years old in 1985.
I was 18

Motley Crue always make me laugh, his voice is so squeaky there is absolutely nothing edgy about it and no attitude :)
