I remember watching this live on TV.
It was so satisfying when he not even won against Mayotte but also against a fanatic and unsportslike american crowd and team!!!

Thanks, it would be fun to see a bit more of this Davis Cup match. Becker matches were nearly always exciting. You never knew what happens next...Yes, indeed nice to see Haas doing so well in Miami. Hopefully he can keep it up and does not get injured again!

Interesting, I remember back in '87 Wimbly thinking the same thing in a match where he blew a 2 sets to love lead versus Mikeal Pernfors was it the third round ? A good natural serve vollier he was but for whatever reasons was unable to reach the standards of Connors, McEnroe, Gerulaitis.

My friend, I think he's being silly. LOL probably hates Becker for some reason.
Can you log into Daily Motion in your country ? Next week, I will upload a more extended highlights of Becker-Mayotte 1987 Davis Cup match. Future tennis highlights of vintage matches are going to be on Daily Motion from now on.

No I don't. I just joined Daily Motion and in future will be putting up tennis highlights of th 1970's through 1990's over there. You Tube causes me hassles trying to put up videos.

Hey, great posting! Say, could you send more of this wonderful match? I was looking for it for years! I already have the Becker - McEnroe match on dvd, but I could never find a tape of this match.

Yeah, I think that should be alright. Almost can't wait for more Tennis memories and especially of this particular match! "Computermaster" by the way more or less admitted, that he was wrong about Becker, but what he heck, who cares about this silly stuff...

Poor Tim Mayotte who never got proper credit for being an excellent player rather than a legend.

With his wife? Is this really true?! I remember he did it once with a foreign woman in a chamber, but that was not his wife. Do you mean his current wife?

You're not still sore that Boris overcame Mayotte and McEnroe, both in 5 setters, in that 1987 Qualifying Davis Cup tie putting his country into the '88 World Group are you ? LOL LOL LOL
