    Hi is the seal polyurethane the same as Minwax polycrylic protective finish? Is that a seal too?
    Thanks

      @furnitureflippingentrepren1161  2 года назад +1

      I've used both to seal furniture and haven't noticed that much of a difference between the two. I'd say use whatever is cheaper at your local store and then compare or contrast overtime what brand or type of seal you prefer.

      Ok coz I was looking to purchase Minwax polycrylic but I think it’s a US brand and it sells on Amazon uk for £30 roughly $40 for 1/2 a pint am. Not sure if it’s the regular price over there in the US but that’s kind of expensive and so was looking for an alternative that would do the same job.
      It’s my first project on a budget so I don’t want the cost and all to stop getting it done.

      @@geobun2734 yeah any indoor polyurethane should do the trick. Just remember not to let the seal glob up or you'll have to sand it down and reapply another layer of seal. I also don't use sheens higher than satin because then it will make my piece more glossy/shiny than I prefer

    Unfortunately in the UK flipped furniture doesn't sell that high at least in my area 🙄

    • @furnitureflippingentrepren1161
      @furnitureflippingentrepren1161  2 года назад +4

      That's ok!
      The sell price should be relative to the cost of living in your area. I live in one of the most expensive cities in the US, so cost of living is really high! High cost of living means I can charge more because that's what people are used to paying for things here, but if your rent, food, etc is cheaper in your area that means you don't need to charge as much to pay for your living expenses. The goal here is to make enough money to pay for your living expenses and have some left over to save or reinvest in your financial and personal growth
      Also, one of the biggest advantages to living in an area with less people and a lower cost of living is there is usually LESS COMPETITION, which is amazing news for you! You will be able to stand out more on FB marketplace and have more access to the best furniture pieces listed for sale 😎
      What is the average price for a refurbished dresser in your area and what is your mortgage/rent cost?

    • @skrefurbishedinteriors
      @skrefurbishedinteriors 2 года назад +1

      @@furnitureflippingentrepren1161 that is so true about cost of living. I live 2hours drive from the capital city London but it's considered rural here. old 2nd hand Furniture is so so cheap on market place. So many free pieces hence why I started flipping. So a refurbished medium size dresser will cost about GBP£25-£30 and after all the work it will sell for maximum £90- £150 rent in my area is from £400- £600. Although pieces take longer to sell if they are not neutral colours. I currently work from home so no workshop rent but that is my main goal.

      @@debraneria4242 This is a great tutorial idea! I'll try my best to make a video with some specific answers within the next month, but for now here is some advice that might help:
      1.) You don't even need to edit your photos if you have the right lighting. If you position your furniture against a wall adjacent to a large window with lots of natural light it will do most of the work for you! Make sure the window is off to the side of the furniture and not actually in the photograph otherwise you'll silhouette the piece of furniture.
      2.) Shoot a variety of angles. I always try to have a photo facing the furniture straight on and it includes the whole piece in the shot. Then I shoot some close up shots of what the customer will like or find interesting (like: hand-carved elements, unique hardware, pretty accents, interesting curves, etc.), then I will get some shots from the side/back, lastly I'll take photos of the flaws (pro tip: upload your pictures on Facebook from best to worst. I'll usually put the pictures of the flaws at the end of the slideshow).
      3.) Stage your photographs to the best of your ability. I'll add trinkets and plants and try to shoot in front of a pretty bright colored wall. Photograph the furniture how you think your ideal customer will use it in their own home or apartment. If you don't know how to stage photographs, watch my videos where I share how I stage my own listings. You can also look up furniture flipping on Instagram or Pinterest and see great examples to follow.
      4.) The only edits I ever really make are sometimes I'll increase the brightness if my lighting was a little too dark. You don't want your photographs to be dark, grainy, or blurry! All basic photo editing apps and smart phones can increase brightness.
      Let me know if this is helpful! Be sure to reach back out if you have any more questions!
