It depends on how true the cry in your heart is...
God sees us, he really knows what we want, he really knows. He is not a man and can't be fooled.
You see God won't show you yourself in the spirit if he knows you won't take what you see seriously or that you will not be willing to abide with the spirit.
This is not to discourage you but to let you set your heart and really seek what God has to give. He does not cast his pearls before dogs neither does he give his diamonds to pigs. He is called the holy spirit. He is holy. He is pure and doesn't like uncleanliness.
Why am I saying this, because when the spirit comes he will first want to clean you up and take you on a journey out of what you're used to. It's going to be a pure adventure...
Don't be afraid, but fear and ask him to come and clean you because the Revelation will first come to clean you up and then after that take you into deeper realms with him...

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.
Now, people will like their eyes to be opened for them to see things about themselves and maybe others, that's good.
However, it may not be possible for everyone to walk in this grace as everyone is not called into the Prophetic or called into the seer realm.
But this should not in anyway hamper any true born again christian from getting revelation from God. Because God speaks in different ways.
The aspect of the speaking of God I will like to talk about is the one spoken of in Ephesians 1:28. Here talks about the eyes of understanding being enlightened.
There is a dimension of revelation of God that comes from understanding. And by that I'm talking about the understanding of the scriptures.
There is a light of God that normally shines through the scriptures that enable people to see themselves in the light of the word of God.
So someone can pray Lord reveal myself to me, the Lord normally does that through the scriptures. So sitting down with the scriptures will point your errors to you.
Another thing I will like to point out here is that you may have already known the area of your weakness instead of working on that area which is known already you still want God to reveal more, how?
So let's go back to the scriptures and begin to work on our lives using the light of God's word.
