Hydrocephalus is the abnormal accumulation of Crebrospinal Fluid (CSF) within the ventricles of the brain, resulting in increased Intracranial Pressure (ICP).
The extra fluid puts pressure on the brain and can cause brain damage. It's most common in infants & older adults.
It occurs due to the imbalance between production & absorption of CSF or due to obstruction of CSF pathways.
