This was a fun watch to see what's out there in the Oddworld bunch. I remember reading about the Quintology back then and even THEN thinking wow, they're awfully confident that this is going to do well again and again enough to hit five games, huh? Glad to see you have the LRG version there too--very nice. Ooooh, that plush is adorable! Game OST vinyls are so cool--and this is great--love the green vinyl itself--they definitely gave it a lot of love when putting that one out. The artbook is really neat to see; it's always a boon to have these because they're fantastic pieces of gaming history. Those art cards are great too--really enjoyed seeing all of this--thank you for sharing!
I'll bet that there's some really obscure merch out there that I've never heard of too! There's been quite a few collector's editions released for the games that seem to be impossible to get your hands on. Yeah they were probably quite overly confident about the whole Quintology weren't they! It didn't exactly work out how they had planned! Despite being a big fan of what LRG do, I actually only have a few of the games they've put out. New 'n' Tasty being one, Spelunky for the PS4 being another and also Yooka-Laylee for the Switch! A lot of the time I want the game they're doing but they're just a bit too expensive! Yeah I really love the plush! And I'm super happy with the vinyl too, it was actually one of my very first vinyl records that I ever got! The first art book is in a way more interesting because it's like this time capsule from before the company disbanded for a while! :D
@@PixelPursuit I have to admit, there are some LRG offerings that hurt the wallet too much... It's a tough go trying to collect them at times. For Oddworld, well, oddities, we'll keep an eye out for anything we don't recall seeing here. Hopefully we could add something to the collection.
omg I still have to show you my CD collection (I am waiting for a new CD I got when it arrives I will make a private video for you), and I will watch later tonight (sry was too tired to watch after school yesterday), oh btw congrats on the 2K subs! It is an awesome start, and of course I love your videos a lot, otherwise I would not comment on every video for years :) I don't even remember how much you had when I discovered you thanks to the Hugo videos!
I'm looking forward to seeing this collection finally! My CD collection isn't too impressive, I kinda stopped buying them when I got more into vinyl and just streaming music. No worries! I have been putting out a lot of videos recently to be fair haha! Thank you! It feels like we only just hit 1000 and now all of a sudden we're at 2000 which is pretty crazy! I'm very glad that you kept watching the videos and kept enjoying them! I can't really remember how many I had back then either but it definitely wouldn't have been many! I mean, the first ever video I uploaded was the first Hugo video, so I might have had less than 50 at the point!
Haha, yeah but to be fair Hugo is still one of my most covered series even now! Super Monkey Ball is the only game series I've covered more extensively in terms of actual reviews!
1:12 I miss booklets like that in CDs and games 5:39 how you said sucker that was so English accent hahaha 6:37 oh yeah now I wanna play Strangers Wrath 11:58 are you sure you are 28 xd 12:18 jeez someone is selling it for 100€ on discogs 14:30 that book is very cool oh yeah the second too really awesome collection you got there
Yeah me too, the Oddworld manuals have always been some of my favourites! Haha, I didn't even notice that I was being so English there! Stranger's Wrath is very good! I actually recently found out that the Switch version isn't actually that good of a port though. I watched this awesome video by LEXX where they went through all of the modern Oddworld ports and I actually learned a lot. I had no idea some of these ports were so different from each other! ruclips.net/video/_1Xr-vkmZXM/видео.html Hahaha, yeah I definitely am 28! :D Wow, so yeah that is pretty rare as I expected then! I'm glad I got it when I did! The art books are so cool, easily the best art books I have in my entire collection!
Great collection! I was introduced to Abe's Oddworld while on holiday in France (i was 14 then). I bought a French videogame magazine in a supermarket with an Oddworld playable demo. I was immediately fascinated by Abe's design and couldn't wait to get home to play it. I don't have that demo anymore but i'm glad i held on to the games. That tin poster looks cool! Might add that one to my own collection.
Thanks! That's an awesome story. Did Abe speak French in the demo? Haha, that would have been a bit weird! I actually have no idea why my Mum got Abe's Oddysee for me back then. I think it was a random purchase because I loved the PS1 so much and she sometimes picked up things that she thought looked interesting. Bit of a strange choice of game to give to a kid but I'm very happy she did that! It is possible that I played the demo and really liked it, but I don't actually remember playing the demo before the full game!
@@PixelPursuit great story as well! Without your mum we maybe wouldn't even be here discussing this series. :) I'm Dutch so I was glad Abe spoke English as my French has never been any good.
That's true! I have no doubt that I would have played it eventually somehow, it just seems like a game that I would have gravitated towards at some point regardless, but I'm glad I played it when I did! Otherwise the impact it had on me might not have been as big! I'm glad Abe speaks English too because my knowledge of French is literally non-existent :D Haha!
i remember in 1997 i had the original game on ps1 with the scrabania on the disc and everyone else had the platiunum later release with the shiny silver disc and no manual.
I have the original disc too! It's such a shame that the platinum versions looked so boring. There's probably quite a few games where I'm missing out on the disc artwork because I have the platinum versions! Plus the manuals for the original Oddworld games are incredible. I used to read them all the time!
Thanks! It's really interesting watching the cutscenes for Abe a Gogo and hearing the different voice acting. Are there any differences to the actual gameplay or it is just cosmetic stuff? It came with stickers!? Now I want it!
I tried playing munch's odyssey recently on pc as I no longer own my old xbox. I couldn't, I just couldn't get passed the first level with munch, they changed the sounds of him walking, hoping and bouncing off the ground and they absolutely butchered my ears, I just couldn't get pass the sound 'cos the xbox's sound of munch moving around was engraved into my brain
Ok so strangers wrath is like then hardest switch collectors edition to find
Yeah that collector's edition looked really good as well! It came with loads of stuff and it even had a Fuzzle plush! It's a shame it's so rare.
11:58 The way Rob looks dead into your soul is beautiful
Haha, I'm just trying to copy Alf's expression :D

What about the Game Boy Games?
You forgot to mention that if you have the pc games, they come with desktop themes.
3:41 That looks like one of those crappy, attention-grabbing RUclips thumbnails. :P
Hahaha, Oddworld were ahead of their time weren't they! Creating thumbnails before RUclips was even invented! :P
