I worked security on the ramp for international flights at IAH here in Houston. I use to watch planes land on windy days and during intense storms. Last summer was hottest but also craziest weather. On my YT channel, I got videos of when an EF2 Tornado came on the runway.

Everytime I see a giant heavy plane like the 747s take off it’s magical. It seems impossible .
You boys should React to video of Storm Eunice that hit the UK on February 18th 2022 and was the worst and strongest storm for more than 30 years as The Last one was the infamous Great Storm of 1987 and there is some videos of planes trying to land At Heathrow Airport and London was under a rare Red weather warning, it’s incredible footage boys trust me

"crabbing" during a crosswind landing is so the plane doesn't get blown off course. Hence why it's facing the side when landing
I actually saw one of the Antinoks (the big ass cargo plane) when I flew through Philly last year, it's one of if not the largest cargo plane ever built, there were only 3 of them and I believe they've all been destroyed now...this was an absolute monster, this video dosnt really do it justice lol
that sideways approach into landing is called "crabbing" it's a technique we use to counteract the wind pushing on us. as a passenger you wont notice it much but it happens on the daily

Forget going to church im calling on god right in my seat LoL We went to Florida one yr, as we were flying over texas lighting and thunder was going on, and my boys were looking out of the window talking bout wooow showing no fear, that turbulence had me so scared I didn't realized I had grabbed this mans hand next to me holding tight. landing in fog/bad visibility isn't that hard or scary since you set the plane up to do an auto land or take you in until "minimums"
As often as I have flown on planes, I always do the fear of my life tense up during landings.
If any of y'all ever fly into DC's Reagan Airport, you're gonna bounce like a basketball as your plane lands. The runways are too short for planes to glide in smoothly. .

Should watch what ww2 b17 crew members had to go through. One crew after a run and defending of enemies the ball turrent at the bottom of the plane was stuck. The guy inside couldn't get out so he the when they landed ball turrent basically yeah....man had to watch his death.

These top 10 type videos a lot of the time, they are wildly inaccurate
Yeah most of these are just regular crosswind landings made to look scary... They look crazy to a regular person and are impressive by the pilots, but they train for them before certification, and are frequently tested by check pilots.. The landing weather also has to be within safe limits otherwise the airport would temporarily shut down...

@jo2832 yeah probably a category II landing of which can only be down at certain airports with low visibility but carm enough winds... The go arounds are not even at the same airport when he claims they are coming in for another attempt... People who male these videos just make air travel scarier for people who are already uncomfortable getting on planes...
