That Cummins sounds good.
Nice review. On. The 2500 ram. Thanks. Jb

Where can I order 2 sets of Chrome Tow Hooks for my 2022 Ram 3500 HO Limited Longhorn Mega Cab 4X4?
80,000 and they can’t put tow hooks on - GREAT REVIEW
Lol, even worse on the cowboy truck..... thanks bro👍🏾
Nothing comes close too Ram and there interiors JB..Thumbs up Brother.
👍👍👍 ya got that right brother!!
I agree 💯!!! Thanks for sharing 👍🏾👍🏾
@@ramrider1453 👌✌👍
2100 lb payload is awfully light for a truck that can tow 20k lb. Where could you find a trailer/load, etc that is say 18k (leaving room for occupants, dogs, etc) that has only a 1500 lb pin/tongue weight?
Great point, that trailer doesn’t exist 👍🏾
True, you'd probably only get this kinda truck if you're really into rock crawling and need the max tow in case a heavy trailer is in a bind someplace.
Gotta love the picture of the “moose horns” at the end!!
Haha!!!
They do have auto deploy running boards....i bought one today 3/22/21 that has them
What was your out the door price?
@@davidbarfield3489 i bought the Limited Longhorn,$84K out the door
The chrome looks so good
Chrome always looks good on black
There is a deployable running boards I have seen them on the lot
My 2020 Ram 3500 Longhorn came with them factory
Thanks, were they 2021?
I wonder if they changed them for 2021?
@@JB_WhoWork yes and by building some 21’s not all opinions are available with all trims as we found out when we bought our 2018 Laramie longhorn Southfork.
Big Ram fan, enjoying all your posts. Would be interested to know why you like the air ride assist for towing. I don't know why, but there are individuals who are actually removing them. Have watched transmission vlogs that say not to get it, if your towing.
The air suspension has always received mixed feedback but it is covered under factory warranty and it does help the truck ride smoother and it keeps the truck level if you’re hauling a heavy load. It could be troublesome 10-15 years down the road but by then, parts will be cheap 😀
Great payload VIN lookup! I'm bias towards RAM, but could you comment on the new Chevy 2500 6.6 Duramax. It seems to on average have higher payload and towing vs a RAM 2500.
No problem, GM added a beefier frame to their trucks which is why they increased their GVWR to accommodate for more payload capacity which was a smart move. If RAM were to increase theirs, they would probably have slightly more capacity using the same GVWR. GM makes a great truck so if you don’t wanna go 1 ton with the stiffer suspension, Chevy is leading the way! Ford increased theirs on specific packages to 10800#’s so that truck may work too 👍🏾
Beautiful truck and gotta love that engine break great video brother
💯!!! Man the engine break is strong in this truck, thanks bro 👍🏾
Man, those Firestone Transforce's are the worst. Brand new and it already looks bald. Ram, what were/are you still thinking using this tire??? Those tires are garbage...
Lol!!! They do look bald brand new 😂 the first thing I did on my 2019 was upgrade the tires. I think RAM gets deep incentive to keep using them
Actually the Firestone HT’s will run 70,000 miles on pavement but they are horrible just barely off road. The AT’s, I made 37,000 miles and literally they were almost bald like 2/32’s. The HT’s I had on a suburban just wouldn’t wear out.
Nice review. I like the cowboy theme on the interior. If I were buying a Ram though I’d probably opt for Sport package.
These manufacturers weight ratings are pretty weird. Like you said the 2018 Rams had 6500 rear ratings. Same front. Still a 10000 GVWR. The new ones like this have almost 500 less on the rear and still 10000 GVWR. My truck maybe a better example of this. It’s derated to 10000 but only difference is the rear axle is 6390 instead of 6600 like the 11350 GVWR trucks. They all have 5600 fronts unless you get a plow package and then they are 6000. And then they all add up to around 12000 or more lol.
Thanks brother! I would love to be in the meetings with this stuff being discussed.... I would get fired quick lol! To your point, I really don’t understand these numbers and sometimes I wish the manufacture would allow customers to use axle ratings over payload if state allows for it 👍🏾
JB, I love your channel. Keep up the great work ! Q: I'm thinking about purchasing an Alliance Valor Toy hauler 36V11, specs:
Length 39’ - 8”
Height 13' 4"
Dry Weight 14,000 Lbs
GVWR 16,800 Lbs
Hitch Weight 3,000 Lbs
What would be your recommendation for Ram truck? Only toys we plan on hauling are 2 Electric bikes. but you never know!
Thanks Jay! Personally you may need to step up to a dually but if you get a long bed Big Horn with a standard Cummins, you should have a payload in the 4200# range which should give you enough capacity to tow that rig. I’m assuming that hitch weight is dry so better to over estimate and assume it will go up at least 600#’s so figure out how much you/family, hitch, and cargo will be before you pull the trigger 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork - Thank you Sir !! You make it sound so easy ! lol when I go to the RAM site I'll try what you suggest. I want to be safe. If I understand correctly 4200-3600= 600# left for me, wife, 3 little grandkids + storage area (basement)+loaded propane tanks+gen+... wow!! So, dually is probably best to be on safe side...How do I select a RAM that will give me greater than 4200# payload?
Lol well I’ve played around with the numbers a lot. The 3600#’s was assuming storage/propane/batteries but a front generator will probably increase that. Was the generator standard or optional on this rig? They may have already included the weight if its standard.
4200#’s is based on a single rear wheel 3500 Big Horn or Tradesman Long Bed with the standard Cummins. I’ve seen some trucks with payload around that ballpark
@@JB_WhoWork - The Gen is optional and I probably won't get it. Alliance on the Valor's is going with 12V fridge and TV's and 2- 300W solar panels as standard. Not sure I need a Gen where we will be camping. Thank you again for your insight ! If it is ok, I'll do some more research and get your feedback?
Sweet truck! Glad you didn’t show this in the 3500! You might cost me money! But PLEASE Ram ditch the Firestone’s.
Lol! Jeez I’m surprised they still offer these tires... they must get them pennies on the dollar 👍🏾
Rear seat reclines on limited as advertise does it? Given you a thumbs up but I’m out of here!😱
I’m not understanding? Only way you get reclining rear seats is if you get a megacab
@@JB_WhoWork I saw add u tube all limited had reclining rear seats only class of ram trucks to do that. I really like mega cabs thanks for the truth
Overpriced your better doing a Laramie build.
What is towing difference between the Cummins and Cummins HO?
Laramie and Limited are different.
Good job
So a 2021 Limited Longhorn is $60K but a 2022 is $80K. Yeah F J B!!!
Same running boards as my 2500 had. Not a fan of them either.
Tell Tam their premium trucks like the limited and longhorn should get a body colored grill when you choose the body color bumper group. I had to have mine painted. Too much chrome!!!
I see this has hill descent control. Is it even need with the exhaust brake? I know it comes in a package but just asking if there is a situation that it’s useable instead of exhaust brake?
Can that size truck pull my 42 foot horse trailer. It weights 20,000 pounds plus 3 of my horses at 1800 pounds each
Great question, and it would but not “legally”. You will exceed the payload and probably the rear axle with that size trailer. I would strongly consider a Dually for that size trailer however a SRW 3500 tradesman/Big Horn should keep you within the limits of that size trailer 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork thank you very much for your recommendation will contact a dealer near me. Love your channel. Thank you taking the time to respond.
🙏🏽
Nice review, the Longhorn is a great looking truck. Yes the back seat in CC is kind of small and my wife and I did not like the reduced middle seat. Thats why we went with the MegaCab when we ordered our Ram 2500. Also, I don't understand why so many people want the diesel. I with with the 6.4 Hemi with 4.10 limited slip rear end and its rated to tow just over 16k. I also get about a thousand more pounds of carry capacity in the truck over the diesel. I have a 30' TT and the Hemi tows great in both the flats and over the grades. If I needed a diesel (makes sense if you tow heavy and often) I would go with the 3500 in order to take full advantage of the power to tow and carry heavy.
Great info and great points 👍🏾👍🏾
Well done young man.
Thank You 🙏🏽
There so expensive though , u have to be an idiot to buy one new !
I buy them new but the difference is my employee pricing and investments pay for them 🙌🏾!
@@JB_WhoWork still , buying a truck is definitely not an investment, now take me , I purchased a 1998 Dodge Ram with a 5.9 loaded in 1998 for 18 k , I’m still driving it today , now that’s smart !
It has nothingto do with smart or dumb, if someone has the financials to purchase a new truck, calling it dumb is small minded. It’s like me asking you, why would you buy a 5.9L diesel when you could have saved more by buying a gas truck?
@@JB_WhoWork I did not buy a 5.9 diesel it’s a 5.9 magnum son ! And I have the finances to purchase this truck built buy fiat junk , but who would in after a year the truck has lost 20 k in equity ! That’s stupid ! 65 k - 70k for a truck ? For how many ! It’s a lose lose , plus interest if u finance plus insurance and gas ⛽️, 1 k a month for a truck is stupid ! Go buy some land or a townhouse 🏡
Glad you mentioned the ambient lighting inside. I have t he 2019 Longhorn 1500 and I love driving at night.
Previous Ford owner here and I bought a 2020 3500 Longhorn. King ranch and high country can’t touch the interior the ram has. My 2020 Longhorn came with factory electric steps as well.
Thanks for the feedback! I’m thinking they changed it for 2021...
@@JB_WhoWork My window sticker shows it came in the Longhorn Level 1 Equipment Group
Mine too.
Want this exact model with the Hemi, have literally no need for diesel at all, I work about a mile or two from home and don't tow anything, great vid!
Hemi is perfect especially with a 3.73 rear axle too! Thanks 👍🏾
Motor Trend truck of the year! And future
Best in class 1500 2500 3500 💯
No Glory No Guts! 💪💪💪💪
💯💯💯💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
No quality.
These trucks are a masterpiece of style and comfort, but build quality sucks. How do I know, 2 lemons in a row and my 2019 Power wagon has more issues than months owned, and I'm not the only one. Overall quality/reliability has been going down since the Fiat merger. Quality wasn't great before but seriously worse after.
Nah, the Longhorn on the Ram is western through and through. The level of detail they put in it is beyond what Ford and Chevy does. Small things like the real branded wood, changing out the aluminum trim, and for me, the black with brown motif is perhaps the best trim in the Ram lineup.
Great points! If you price out a Laramie and LH, there is definitely a lot of value in this trim 👍🏾
Love the channel, yours was one of my most frequently watched when I was trying to figure out which options to get on the Ram I offered.
Here's a suggestion, if I may. Please make sure you actually address the question you pose in the video thumbnail. This video for example, you don't actually answer the question of "Is the Laramie a better value?"
Obviously it's subjective but this info could still help out those who are on the fence.
Thanks Matthew! I typically answer the question to the viewer because I find a wealth of information from people who are typically shopping between the two. Once the dealer gets more inventory, I plan to answer these question!
Beautiful. Dream truck material right here.
🔥🔥🔥
Great review brother. I absolutely love the interior of this truck. But 80k is really damn expensive. Way out of my wheelhouse.
Thanks bro! Yea this truck can be had in the high $60k range but right now there’s not many rebates so looking more in the low $70k range 👍🏾
Hi, I’m looking to get this exact model. I will be using it as my daily driver in city but also the occasional trip towing my camper. Would I be better off with a gasser or is the diesel ok for daily city driving?
It really depends on how long you plan on keeping it. Most people would say it will take a long time to make up $9400 in fuel savings but resale value will be better if you keep it for 10 years.
The gas will probably get 2 MPG worse in the city but towing it could be 4-5 mpg worse 👍🏾
Hey JB, I love the Grill on this unit and also the rims. Its a good looking machine.
I agree, it has a different presence compared to the other trim levels👍🏾
I prefer those wheel to wheel steps over the power one because it allows easier access to the front of the bed. Without them, most people could not reach over into the bed at all because the bed sides are so high.
Very true! I guess I like the clean look the power steps offer with them pushed in I guess 👍🏾
Dude, 81k what happened to the value part of this video ... wow
The question was is the Laramie the better Value?
Im on 3rd ram I have 2012 diesel thinking of trading in mine on 2021 ,,looks like nice truck
Love this truck.....living country fabulous😏
💯
I can't believe they didn't have the rear wheel well inserts aka rust stoppers.
My 2002 I purchased new is rust free.
You can get the power deployable steps on the bighorn and up. But they do sometimes change it from the factory. Like I went and viewed a few Longhorns and all but one had the power running boards. So I’m guessing it’s just how it was ordered.
Stop with the music wtf
Love this channel. Keep up the great work, JB.
Thank you sir 👍🏾
What are your 4X options high/low? Auto all wheel locking axles anti spin???????
Is dodge offering any good incentives on the Dodge Ram 2500 trucks ? Thanks
2020 they are 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork awesome! Thanks for the update, greatly appreciate it ... been looking for a new truck, so just trying to inquire which Dodge Ram 2500 would have the best incentives ... thanks again
That digital review camera isn’t standard for 2021 is it? I ordered a Laramie level 2 with the towing technology but didn’t get the safety group with the adaptive cruise
It’s not standard 👍🏾
You CAN get power deployed steps I got them on my 2021 the reason it didn’t show up because the power step is included or side steps are free
On the 2021 Longhorn 2500?
Thank you, Great review - nice job, WOW great looking truck. Pricey, but a lot of nice touches, lets hope they filter down to lower trim packages.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
You can get the power deployed steps on the 2021. My limited longhorn 2500 Cummins has it. 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
Hey JB, how loud is that Cummins? Do you have to shut it off to order food through a drive thru?
My 2020 is much better than my 2018. The 2018 you had to shut off every time but the 2020 is usually ok.
My brother had a 2019 with the deployable and they were awesome don't get why they'd take that option away for our newer trucks
I could be wrong and some mentioned they are available 👍🏾
I'm looking at this same exact setup and the power running boards are available. The website gets a little glitchy and doesn't always update the picture of the truck correctly. Same thing happens when selecting the interior sometimes.
Thanks 👍🏾
Don't think the turn signals are LED
Ya they our
@@RAM-KINGOFTRUCKS they changed them in 2021
Laramie/Big Horn don’t have led turn signals. Any HD headlight with projector has LED turn signals
Love your reviews. Keepem coming.
Thanks Michael!
👍👍👍
This is the review that did it. I just pulled the trigger on a ‘21 Big Horn 2500. Thanks for all the info!
That’s awesome!!! Thanks for sharing Charles!
I was looking at that truck when I was there! 😅
Looking for that future play truck👍🏾
What a fantastic truck! Would’ve liked to have seen a sunroof or panoramic sunroof for $80K though.
I feel like Ram is doing better on payload with this generation of trucks. Thought you were going to show a rating of like 1,700 the way I remember the previous gen well optioned trucks.
You make a really good point btw because I did a review on a 2018 that had a payload of 1980#’s and it was a Laramie. I guess the Aluminum hood, aluminum engine parts, and lighter suspension pieces helped with this 👍🏾
4200 lbs on a 3500
Having owned a laramie and currently own a limited, The seats are a lot better and slightly more comfortable in the limited trim. The limited interior is more anesthetically pleasing.
I owned a 2017 Longhorn and recently purchased a 2020 Laramie. It does have the phase 2 upgrade. I do have to say 3 years made a huge difference and even though I "downgraded" I feel I upgraded tremendously.
Same here, I owned a Laramie before my Limited and I prefer the real leather 👍🏾
Very true 👍🏾
Would you say to get the offroad package, the auto leveling air bags or both to get the smoothest ride?
So they don’t allow you to get them together but the air rides smoother over the Bilstein shocks 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork excellent. That's what I plan to get. Thanks for the great videos!
Thanks for your feedback 👍🏾
Thanks for showing the yellow tag. I love this truck and think it will work with a small fifth wheel (Grand Design 295RL). 2100 payload is a little light, may have to order without 4x4 and pick up another 300 pounds of payload. I really wish they would increase the 10,000 limit since I think it is artificially low for most 3/4 trucks.
No problem! I try to show it in every video. I would recommend a HEMI with the 4.10 axle but if you plan on traveling a lot, I would go with a 1 ton diesel. I too wish RAM would increase by at least 1000#’s so you can pull the smaller fiver’s 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork The more I read, the more leaning to a 1 ton and diesel. Too much truck is a lot cheaper than too little truck and you need to trade. Thanks.
💯
You did not explain the mirror option that’s been on GM trucks. What are you talking about
How much do you smell the diesel anymore ????? Wife is sensitive to it and want to make sure it is not a problem.
It’s not like old diesel because of the DEF so there’s not a strong smell 👍🏾
Nice looking truck. Love the interior. I don't think I would ever have a 3/4 ton truck again. I just love the 1 ton trucks now after owning one. Thanks for the review JB.
Thanks for sharing Ric! I probably would go back if I decide to go with a TT in the future but having a 1 ton keeps the option list open 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork I totally agree with that or just stay with my SRW 3500.
