I am watching this video on February 19, 2024 and I loved it. No pomp, no egotistical posturing, just raw Cindy and raw Yendi. I dislike superficiality intensely and today i saw none of that. This was a great interview Yendi, cheers🍸🍾💃

Cindy doesn't want to be what she actually is. And that's a footnote in the history of Bob Marley's life. She was one of several women he dated, fooled around and fathered a child with. She's looking to be held in higher esteem. Some of it stems from her having a chip on her shoulder birthing a illegitimate son and wanting to make her and Bob’s union more than what it is was….an adulterous affair. She'll have to do what she's always done, and that's settle for what she can get and is entitled to. She didn't get to be Mrs Bob Marley. She didn't get to be, in the eyes of the world the woman most closely tied to his music, life and musical career. She didn't get to be
acknowledged by him or the media the most important woman in his life or even one of the most important. Whatever the status of their marriage, Rita was still his wife at the time of his death and Cindy was his mistress, which is why she was sat at the back of his funeral. Rita put up with her during his life. There's no reason for her to do so now after his death. I thought with old age and after 2 marriages it would give one clarity and self respect, I guess

Why does she never talk about Tom Tavares Finson who she married 2 months after Bob died. He’s the man that raised Damian! This lady is a clout chaser, all these years later and her interviews are only about Bob because that’s all people care about, not none of her personal achievements or accomplishments! What had she accomplished since 1976??? Is her only relevance being known as a dead man’s mistress and baby mother?

Makes me sad that I did not get the pleasure of living in Jamaica because you make me proud of how you represent us (and yourself). The Maroon interview was hilarious and informative. This one immediately made me want to cry. America is so backwards culturally regarding race. It is so difficult to see how simply beautiful Jamaica's ability to allow people to be themselves but I cannot EXPLAIN it to them. They just refuse to accept their responsibility to change.

@@willjohn4286 Actually Will John I did know this. She had one child before she met Bob who Bob then took as his own. Whilst Bob was carrying on with all his shenanigans with his various women, she felt the need to turn to someone (and who wouldn’t in that situation.) She subsequently bore a child which wasn’t Bob’s. Bob accepted the child as his own. I read this in Rita Marley’s own autobiography and also in Bob’s mother’s autobiography. Please don’t make assumptions of what people know and don’t know!

Not to judge because many would have probably done the same in her shoes. But at least she owns her past that she did. How many of us have an angelic past decisions and choices?

Yendi should have specifically asked Cindy about the reason why Jamaica was boycotting the miss world pageant in 1976. It was over apartheid ie. race discrimination against blacks in South Africa. Did Cindy as a white woman think that this issue did not concern her even though she had put herself up to represent Jamaica having won a bikini contest in Jamaica? Yendi when you avoid difficult topics and pander to your guests your little chat show fails to stimulate critical thinking and awareness. It's just froth.

As for the colourism in Jamaica, we can certainly thank England for their legacy. Uugh, ok , Cindy, we get it, you hit the jackpot when you bedded the 'little duty head Rasta' kudos to you, not !

So, Bob the superstar reggae rebel was not a big catch? Especially when she was his tenant and by her own account (at a uwi talk) was relying on her looks to make her way through life with only 5 years of high school, no professional qualifications, and an out-of-pocket family? It's only in a colour/class coded society like Jamaica, especially 50 plus years ago, that a jobbing white woman was automatically seen as social elite. Actually, Cindy's affair with Bob can be seen as her coming up inna life: After he bankrolled her participation in the miss world beauty contest and she finished the year's pageant obligations, she bore his child and got a house in an upscale neighbourhood and a starter business from him. Down to a transport van upon request. And with his death, she is celebrated and defined because of her affair with him and the child she bore him. There is no doubt that she loves him. But the half has never been told.

Sorry I don't believe what Cindy says about it different with Damian because his dad was a rasta. Bob waa a success by the time he was born so him being a rasta made no difference. She's just proud to have a child by Bob. She also wants people to call her mama gong because she knows people see her as the side chick. Rita was Bob's wife, not her. So she wants some kind of title and using their son to get it. Don't dislike her but it seems that way and would she have wanted Bob before he was famous? She talks about society not accepting them but didn't she reject him until he got fame?

Bob certainly never considered himself married. He made that clear on multiple occasions. He never publicly acknowledged Rita as his wife. There are interviews of him where when asked if he ever got married he says "Never!" and when asked why Rita has his name then, he says
"she got it by being in the band".
Other time when asked if he "has a queen", he says "i have more than one queen,
i feel entitled to all the queens". Other time he says "i am
free, single and disengaged, but i got lots of girls". Honestly, you can’t call Cindy or all the other girls he has dated/had flings with “homewreckers” when this was a man who didn’t see himself tied to anyone. Rita and him didn’t even live together. They didn’t own a home together. He lived on Hope Road while Rita lived separetely with the kids. When he left Jamaica after the 1976 attempt, he went to England and lived with Cindy for like 3 years while Rita was in Jamaica. Everyone can draw their own conclusions but it’s pretty evident they weren’t ever married in the typical sense. Rita wasn’t his main at all and it is delusional to believe that. Get over it.
