Thank you for this video, very well done, truely enjoyed watching... I actually put this deck on my wishlist a while back and totally forgot about it. My Tarot Deck taste has changed significantly thru the last couple of years. I seek decks with more diversity, decks that I can see real images of my own life thru. I feel like this artist made a true attempt to dipict Tarot via her life's view. It's not highly diverse but it's her lens and I could fall in. Lovely deck, I purchased the Schiffer Version, will likely trim the blue borders.
Just to be clear, there are 3 versions of the Gaian Tarot: The original Llewellyn version in the pale yellow box, the Schiffer version (currently available mass market) and the limited edition available here: www.gaiantarot.com/shop/gaian-tarot-limited-edition/ In this video, I showed the original Llewellyn (smaller, left side) and the Schiffer version with large borders on right. Your preference is the Schiffer?
I've have the original Gaian, but all I can find is the guidebook! So I think I'm going to give in and get the new version, crossing my fingers that the other turns up in response :)
Thanks for doing this. I do not like the blue border on the Schiffer published deck. While the Schiffer published guidebook is better formatted which aids in reading, the font size in the Schiffer published guidebook seems smaller and that is harder for some to read like me. Definitely the font size of Schiffer guidebooks on other decks have been problematic for me . And Llewellyn card stock has been problematic on many decks. But on this deck because of the blue border alone, I prefer the Llewellyn version. If Schiffer ever reprints this deck, I hope they will consider getting rid of that horrid blue border on the cards.
Thanks for doing this side by side. I have both versions and I much prefer the Llewelyn edition.... although I do like the Schiffer book better! The Gaian Tarot is one of my top favorites.... I got the Llewelyn edition first... not sure why I bought the Schiffer edition????
Hi Eliza, glad you enjoyed the video. Perhaps the Schiffer deck will come into use for you at some later time. As the Llewellyn is OOP, you may not want others shuffling it. In that case, you could share the Schiffer version with others.
Integrative Healing with Sadhana good idea!!! This is a deck I use only for personal readings now that I think of it!!! But with your suggestion realizing I could use the Schiffer for others!!!
This is a beautiful deck. Thank you for the comparison. I love both of them. Though I dig the deeper colors of the one with the blue boarders. 💙
I have the Llewellyn version of this and really enjoy it; I'm bewildered that Schiffer added a whole extra border to the cards.
Ya, complete mystery! Thanks for finding your way to my channel!

Enjoy your new deck!
I prefer the newer version. Loved the deck before but never purchased because of the lack of color saturation for the cards.

Use your pendulum to find the cards!

Thanks Teresa. I also hope that the publishers listen to the feedback that abounds!

After 4 years and also having the Herbcrafter's Tarot - do you still use it and which one do you prefer?
I only have the Llewellyn version and have no intention of passing it on. There are too many cards that I need to hold from time to time.
