Seamus Heaney's Birthday Speech

On Monday 13th April, RTÉ and the Irish Museum of Modern Art, with the support of the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism, will host a celebration of Seamus Heaney's birthday which will be carried live on RTÉ lyric fm and on RTÉ Radio 1.

He is the voice of an era and will be rembered for his scholarship,his gift of translation and his poetry ,the most difficult medium of all. He is a man of humility and grace. His knowledge is astounding but he has the gift through words to touch the heart and soul.
