Also, this is Foden’s best season and an underwhelming season for Saka and he has better numbers in almost every department. Shots, shots on target, passes (less backward passes than Foden), tackles, dribbles, chances created etc. Imagine his stats if he started in his natural position since the start of his career.

Foden play 3 positions but only has one role to create space for others by drawing players in an advanced hybrid false 9, 10 and false winger role. Saka play many roles in one position. He plays inverted winger, touch line hugging winger, wing back, no.10, wide playmaker, penetrator. Versatile players are not players who play in different positions with one role. Instead they are players who play many roles in one position. Trust me I am a coach.
