Flat Welded Seam Repair | Technical Repair Tutorial
This video demonstrates how to make a quick repair on the raised welded seam of most inflatable items aiming for clarity to allow you to make the most effective repair possible.
    1. Let all the air out of the item.
    2. Clean the repair surface with isopropyl alcohol or an alcohol wipe (if none are available, just use water and make sure the surface is clean and dry).
    3. Expose a fresh surface of the PVC using sandpaper (this will make the repair much stronger).
    4. Make the repair area horizontal to stop the glue from dripping while it cures.
*pro tip: use tape to secure the repair area in positon while the glue cures.
    5. Apply the needed amount of glue to the repair area ensuring the rip and the surrounding material is covered. Using a spatula (or a pointy utensil that you don't mind getting glue on), neaten up the repair ensuring even coverage of the glue.
To ensure that the left over glue in the tube can be used for a future repair, squeeze the glue to the top to remove all air from the tube and put the cap back on. (This will prevent the glue from curing in the tube).
You can secure the repair area in place wile curing with two heavy object clamping down either side.

How do you stop the adhesive from going inside the tube and gluing together to the other side?

If it is a small cut or split the thick glue will not drip through. However if it is a larger cut then you need to put something inside. We use sticky tape, or cling film inside the tube. Then if the glue drips through the hole it will fall on the cling film which in turn will stick to the inside of the repair that you are making but stop the glue reaching the other side of the tube. It can be a bit fiddly but I have done it successfully many times.

well, the price of the adhesive is more than my inflatable pool float, so.... meh!
